We previewed the tournament and a handful of notable 2017 draft eligibles. Like the WJC's, we'll provide game recaps and scouting reports from our tournament home page.

At first , i wanted to write a strong critic about your article. You know, like haters always do. :sarcasm: Not to mention Zadina, Veleno, Roman...
But then i saw, its only 2017 draft class. So, i have to cool down. Relax boy, i said to me. There will be definitely also article about 2018 draft class. Or? :naughty:

Sweden up by one after the 1st. Not a very good hockey game, tons of mistakes from both teams.

Anyone have the jersey numbers for the russian team? I've made out Rubinchik to be #6, Samorukov to be #18, Svechnikov to be #14. Kostin is #24? Lipanov #10? Marushev #27? Are these correct?

Not sure I've seen Liljegren any worse than this. His timing seems way off, getting long shifts in his own zone doesn't help either.

2-0 Swe after two periods. Close game, still lots of mistakes.

Does anyone have their best U-18 team here?

Canada traditonally does (in contrast to the U-18 worlds). Does anyone else?

out of curiosity, what is the app jagr is advertising in usa-fin stream? some sort of sports-tracker?

Sweden win 3-1. Not a great game from either side.

Liljegren was invisible. No one on the swedish team really stood out to me, but Elvenes assist and Huggs shot on the 3-1 goal were nice to watch.

On Team Russia I liked Samorukov and Kostin. Samorukov looks big, calm and poised out there. Had some dangerous shots on goal too that led to second opportunities.

Kostin had two nice plays. One where he checked the swedish defender on the boards, stole the puck and then feathered a pass into the slot for a great scoring chance, and another where he passed the puck from deep in his own end to the swedish blueline which led to a breakaway the russians were unable to convert on. He also had a pretty terrible giveaway at the swedish blueline after he had had the puck on his stick for a long time and just circled the zone and then lost it which led to a partial breakaway.

Rubinchik looked fairly good as well. Had a big hit on Brännström and overall played solid. Got an assist on a shot from the left circle which hit Toropchenko on the way into the net.

That's about it from this game I guess.
