Congrats to the Czechs.

Either team would have been a deserving winner, but it's a damn shame for both teams that the refs decided the outcome.

Reffing overall has been terrible this tournament. They sent the wrong guy to the penalty box twice in the bronze game, some questionable calls in that game too.

^That Primeau save was actually late into the 5min Major(20secs left on it on the timer there) with Czech's up 4-3 at the time.
Gave his team a fighting chance with that stop.

Svechnikov scored 4 goals. It's not bad on the first glance, but on the second, he scored vs Slovakia and vs Sweden in a meaningless game, and he scored nothing vs stronger opponents. And it's always like this.
was pretty bad against americas and canada. kostin was bad agains canada though he scored a nice goal and great against usa

Championship Game. Both teams trading chances. And the refs call this 5+20 for spearing. International refs are something else.

He didnt play puck and hit him inbetween legs in front of referee. What was it then?

It wasn't a spear. He was trying to lift his opponent's stick. They both went early and the linesman didn't drop the puck.

They were likely swayed by the Czech laying on the ice considering none of the Czech players or refs even reacted. It was a made up call after the fact. Poehling was thrown out of the face off circle, lined up on the wing, and even gave the Czech player a stick tap as he left the ice. All of that happened before the refs made up the call.

The linesman doesn't drop the puck. The US player is already committed to trying to tie up his opponents stick. A two-minute penalty at most. Five-minute major was and is ridiculous.

I am not hockey player so I dont have any real experience in it. But you can zoom
it in and you see that he completly missed his stick and just hooked him
up. First time I watched it I was sure he made it for purpose. Two minutes for sure, but I dont remember situations like this happenning by mistake. It seemed to me like clear intention. When the puck is not there, players on that level mostly never finish their move....That just looked like clear stupidity imo.

Zoom it in and you will see the worst try ever. Czech player wasnt early imo. I agree with rest, but I still think it was an intention.

I don't want to take away from the tournament, it was really good effort from all countries. Czechs definitely played well enough to win, no question. But to give a five-minute major at that point, of the game, is complete lack of intelligenceon the refs part.
