We have been the better team imo, but you just can't give them the powerplay. Their PP is deadly thanks to that elite line with Chmelevski.

Defense by both teams has been suspect. Both Team USA defenders keep getting caught puck chasing and leaving the front of their own goal wide open. The coverage on both of Zadina's goals was laughably bad. They've left him all alone in front of the net twice.

Sorry but that was a brutal call.
The kid that was supposed to be hurt was out to start the PP.
2Min. Fine.
But 5 and a game?
Joke.

Svechnikov scored 4 goals. It's not bad on the first glance, but on the second, he scored vs Slovakia and vs Sweden in a meaningless game, and he scored nothing vs stronger opponents. And it's always like this.

The Sweden game was not meaningless.

What was the 5 minute call for?

Poehling on the face-off went to lift up the stick of the Czech. He mistimed it and the lineman didn't drop the puck. They called him for spearing. If that's spearing, a hockey game would never finish because all the players would be in the box.

I personally think we have been the better team all game long, but it's shame we won with help of that lame power play.

WOOP! Fantastic result. We were lucky with the 5 minute PP but it's great to finally win this tournament. I still remember the day when the U-18s were relegated......looking forward to seeing these guys at the U-20 level. Really enjoyed the way they have played this tournament.

Worst call I've ever seen in a championship game. I felt the Czechs were the better team for most of the game so perhaps they would have won anyway but it's still a terrible shame that it was decided like that. I hope to see a rematch next April with the full US team.

Any time the US team gets out of the group stage I feel it's a good showing but this was probably the best chance they've had in years (and potentially for years to come) to take the title again. Some nice performances from a number of players and I'll be curious to see if they've boosted their draft stock at all. It is what it is I guess.
