Player Discussion Ivan Demidov: Welcome to Montreal

If a comment in beginner English not considering context can motivate them, more power to Washington.
It was a trap question by the journalist to stir up fake controversy. hes gonna have to learn to not fall for it. Anything said publicly during the playoff can be used by the other team as motivation

This is what IMO he meant to say: “I was a big fan of Ovy when I was young, but I modeled my game more on Malkin’s”. The fact is innocuous, you still want to use anything as bulletin board material if your the Caps. Same as in war.

If you can make Demidov’s comment seem like the Gulf of Tonkin incident, an event that never happened , you can start a Vietnam war against Demidov. He’s one of the two scalps they want (according to media), the other one being Hutson.

I would personally go with Laine-Suzuki-Demidov though. It has it all. In addition, Caufield-2C-Slaf sounds like a second line of a cup contender, imo much better than Laine-2C-Demidov. Imo only Suzuki is able to ride with these two on his wings.

Laine is currently too slow to be on a line which goes up against the other team's best lines.

Starts around 3m35s. His answer about Ovy and Malkin has no bad intention into it at all. As expected, he answered it in an honest way how he liked Malkin a lot when growing up.

And, he better not change his number, I ordered my jersey already.

Demidov’s a sweetheart.

Gotta good feeling about Caufield.

Laine er…haha. I hope he can turn it up a notch and cash these cheques.

Laine basically goes: “Ovechkin? f*** that guy!”, Demidov tries to say in rudimentary English: “Modeled my game more on Malkin than Ovechkin”. Want to bet which one is bulletin board material?
