This is what IMO he meant to say: “I was a big fan of Ovy when I was young, but I modeled my game more on Malkin’s”. The fact is innocuous, you still want to use anything as bulletin board material if your the Caps. Same as in war.

If you can make Demidov’s comment seem like the Gulf of Tonkin incident, an event that never happened , you can start a Vietnam war against Demidov. He’s one of the two scalps they want (according to media), the other one being Hutson.

I would personally go with Laine-Suzuki-Demidov though. It has it all. In addition, Caufield-2C-Slaf sounds like a second line of a cup contender, imo much better than Laine-2C-Demidov. Imo only Suzuki is able to ride with these two on his wings.

And Laine-2C-Slaf just wouldnt work, imo not even Laine-Suzuki-Slaf.

I don’t mind Newhook with Demidov - Newhook’s been decent lately. I would prefer someone like Heineman on the other wing who can go retrieve the pucks.
