His handling, mobility and offensive instincts are all absolutely incredible. He seems to think the game very fast. He's going to be a nightmare to defend against for a long time.
Only bigger, more powerful skating and a better shot.Looks a lot like Hutson.
You forgot EngstromOnly bigger, more powerful skating and a better shot.
They may not be MacKinnon and Makar, but they are going to be the drivers of this team for a long time. Add Hage, Beck , Fowler, Davidson, Tuch, Florian, Harris, etc. and you have the makings of contender. And maybe more.
That's too flashy, we don't want a guy like that on the powerplay or in the shootout.
Those head fakes are just like Hutson... it's hilarious and uncanny how similar they are. That's too flashy, we don't want a guy like that on the powerplay or in the shootout.
I called him a forward version of Lane Hutson last year. Those head fakes are just like Hutson... it's hilarious and uncanny how similar they are.
So did II called him a forward version of Lane Hutson last year.
Super that you said thisThe best part of his first NHL game? There some confusion when we entered the Hawk's zone, before his assist to Newhook. He took control after a picosecond of hesitation and created the play. Chew slowly... its the good stuff!
Demi may make a 2nd C out of newhook yetI thought Newhook looked very good beside Demidov. Agree with your there. Newhook is a burner and processes the game at a high level. He just can't finish. Sometime one player can unlock another one (see MacKinnon and Lehks).
I want to see this experiment carry on for a lot longer.
Wouldn't that be something if Demidov turned Newhook into a 60 point speedy centre. I can honestly see it happen.Demi may make a 2nd C out of newhook yet![]()
The problem is that many here complain about what Newhook isn’t and are blind to what he is. As one of the faster forwards in the league, Newhook’s speed will open up the ice even more for Demidov.Wouldn't that be something if Demidov turned Newhook into a 60 point speedy centre. I want nothing more, but to me - aside from `Newhook taking faceoffs, it looked more to me as if Demidov was the center. He was definitely leading the play.Wouldn't that be something if Demidov turned Newhook into a 60 point speedy centre. I can honestly see it happen.
You hit the nail on the head here...............open up the ice so Demidov can do his thing, and really vice versa. The problem is that many here complain what Newhook isn’t and are blind to what he is. Newhook is in pace to score 82 goals a season playing with Demidov. Unfortunately, for some here, even that wouldn’t be enough.
Just joking to make a point.
That's what a playdriver winger ala Nikita Kucherov makes you believe. Demidov doesn't need to be a center to be effective. Just give him a 2-way center like Suzuki, Aho, Point, Horvat, Lundell, Cirelli, etc. and let him create his magic.I want nothing more, but to me - aside from `Newhook taking faceoffs, it looked more to me as if Demidov was the center. Regardless I think they may complement eachother quite nicely. Will be interesting moving forward.I want nothing more, but to me - aside from `Newhook taking faceoffs, it looked more to me as if Demidov was the center. He was definitely leading the play.
This shouldn't be the plan. They need to run third line around Dach and Newhook, get a legit 2C for Demidov who he can turn into a PPG one.Wouldn't that be something if Demidov turned Newhook into a 60 point speedy centre. I can honestly see it happen.
I agree. However......I would still like to see how these two look together for a greater sample after that first game. This shouldn't be the plan. They need to run third line around Dach and Newhook, get a legit 2C for Demidov who he can turn into a PPG one.
Atleast that's what I'd try to do for next season.
Newhook's speed is amazing and he clearly created space for Demidov BUT his offensive skills are those of a 3rd liner. He just doen't have the finish to complete the setups he'll be seeing every night.I agree. However......I would still like to see how these two look together for a greater sample after that first game.
Having Dach, Newhook and Heinemen together on the third line could be unreal with Heinemens shot.
Need a center good on Faceoff and solid defensively. Guy Boucher was saying how this is important to have a player good in faceoff.
