Value of: Ivan Demidov VS 2025 1OA

I've been doing a deep dive of Demidov's defensive and transition game over the past few weeks trying to figure out what exactly he will be at the NHL level. I kept hearing that the Habs management see him as a future NHL centre, Elite Prospects video on him today see him as quite likely a future NHL centre, I'm sold on him as a future centre too.

To me, it's easy he's above Martone and Misa, I think quite clearly. I'd lean him above Hagens too at this point though I'm a bit lower on Hagens than a lot of people it seems.

It's a toss up between him and Schaefer imo.

So, for me... No, I'd keep Demidov. I'll take the potential elite 1C over the dman.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Habs see him as a potential center moving forward, he's certainly got the playstyle and defensive commitment for it.

No, it would take more than the 1st overall of a mid draft for me to trade Demidov with what he's been showing this year.

The KHL is a stronger league than any of those the 2025 draftees are playing in, and he's been handicapped by his coach for most of this season.

Even if some of these draftees turn out as good as Demidov down the road, I still keep him. Why risk trading what seems like a guaranteed star for a very small chance at getting an even better star? There's no reason for Montreal to do this move.

Like others have said, I would actually combine assets to try and trade up to get a higher draft pick this year. With how the Habs are playing recently and Dobes, Demidov, Reinbacher, etc. coming up, I think the time for rebuilding is near its end. One last top 5 or top 10 draft pick would be great.

He's untouchable IMO. Has a high probability of being the next Mogilny or Kucherov... like others have said, will certainly be the Hab's best forward prospect since Lafleur.

Maybe for Schaefer, but then the Habs are out of the potential stud forward for a potential stud dman, which they might already have, albeit in a different capacity in Hutson.

Wow I don’t even think Bedard got this much hype :help:

i guess you can’t help but dream when your team consistently drafts the wrong player with their 1st round pick:

kotkaniemi instead of tkachuk
Slaf instead of Cooley
Reinbacher instead of michkov

feel like you just take hagans or Schaefer…. But prob 3rd overall would be the cost.

Granted no reason for Montreal to move Demidov until they see what he looks like in the NHL.

#1 is valid. #2 and #3 will need more time. In term of team construction, I would prefer Slaf and Reinbacher even if Cooley and Michkov may be a better players.

Are you fine ? You are asking to be ridiculed again ? What happened in Hutson's thread was not enough ?

May as well create one of these threads for Reinbacher too.

Reinbacher vs 10th OA

Is he even worth a top 10 pick any more? How much has his value dropped since the habs selected him way too high when players like Michkov were still available?

More like Hab fans are gloating like crazy over Demidov because they know they done f***ed up picking Reinbacher.

As a Sharks fan, much rather have Schaefer, marginally would prefer Hagens and Misa (love his style). Martone might be a better fit for the sharks, but I’d say Demidov is the more talented player.

This post reeks of envy
You don't get it?

Instead of surrounding the core of
Suzuki 5-11 207
Caufield 5-8 175
Hutson 5-9 162

With players like
Dach - 6-4 220
Slaf - 6'3-225
Laine - 6'4-208
Reinbacher - 6'3-207

We could have surrounded them with

Frank Nazar - 5'10 - 190
Logan Cooley 6' 191
Matvei Michkov - 5'10 - 172

And had an entire core of players below 6 feet tall and 190 lbs.
