One thing doens't make sense for me though. How the hell is Stars on Spezza's no-go list? I mean there is 10 teams worse than us, and Texas is a nice enough place. Same goes for the Preds, Spezza's list makes no sense.

If he was smart ... he didn't add teams that wouldn't want him anyway.

That way he could include some teams that might want him and give up the assets ... and then stop them so he could go to a true contender.

Wouldn't it be funny if Lebrun got that wrong, it does seem like we would have heard about it sooner, or that it would have been bigger news then just a throw away line at the end like it was

That and the fact that Dallas has been called everything from one of four teams keen on acquiring Spezza to a "dark horse" to land him.

Edit: One of these guys is flat out wrong, Lebrun or Wyshynski.

And if you read Lebrun's post, he says

"Stars GM Jim Nill said he’d like to add a piece or two to his forward group but did not divulge his specific targets."

So how does Lebrun know that Nill was turned away by Spezza for that reason? Clearly he didnt get details from Nill. So who?

It just doesnt make sense.

Toronto
Montreal
Winnipeg
Calgary
Edmonton
Vancouver
Columbus
Florida
Nashville
NYI

That's 10. So unless that's wrong and he actually has us on his list instead of either Florida, Columbus, or NYI. If that's the case, then what an insult.

I really think Lebrun is getting his facts wrong here. Why would Spezza all of a sudden put us on his no trade list after it's been reported all along that we were a candidate to land him.

If we're on his no trade, thank god. He's saving us the trouble. All aboard the Grabbo train

Toronto and Montreal are not on his list. He knows that the Sens would never trade him to those two teams, so he purposely left them off his list.

Nill: We wanted to add some defensemen. We knew we had to some right shots.

Nill: Honka has potential to be a Karlsson type player. Really excited about the size they added.

So far you could just watch the video on the Stars website if you want to know what he's saying.

Nill: AHL Championship changes the way they are approaching the off season. Used the 1/2 season of experience again on those playoffs.

NHL: We have flexibility and cap assets. He knows other teams are going to have a hard time signing their players.

He may push for trades of cap strapped teams .... like the Tyler Seguin deal.

Nill: I've talked to all the agents of the players we're looking at in free agency.

Nill: Won't say who he has spoken too. Said he talked to all top free agents.
