Its time for George Parros to be replaced

Again the argument of “because the NHL said so” is a weak one. Right up there with “keep your head up”, “league is getting soft”, etc.

Lets not
Arguments of authority only work if everyone believes unequivocally in that authority..... But what a stupid argument for a discussion board......

"Hey what did everyone think of that trade"......"The GM made it so it must be good"

"Hey what did you think of that hit?" Refs said it was good so therefore it must be"

If an argument of authority is all you have to offer don't waste everyone's time. This is a place of discussion.

He freaking hates the Leafs, our suspension differential since he took over is awful. Not that our suspensions weren't warranted (damnit Kadri) but you'd think just by law of averages someone would be suspended when they injure us.

Might have to do with that fight (was it with Orr?) when Parros got badly injured falling on the ice

If Habs players smarten up, they'll realize it's open season and with the added muscle they got this year, they could absolutely flatten the North division.
Parros won't do a thing.

Parros won't do a thing.

And this is the problem why not having a functional DoPS and consistent officials is an issue

You’re not the only one thinking that.

A weak one? It's the only one that is of any real world consequence. The NHL makes the decisions on player safety, and all the griping and bellyaching on Twitter or on message boards isn't going to change that. It's fun for people to think it does though. The officials thought it was a clean hit, the league thought it was a clean hit, the commentators thought it was a clean hit, and many more on this forum did too.

Keep your head up is good advice for any player, it's a contact sport and players are out there looking to hit you. That's a sacred contract between the players. Kotkaniemi was unaware of his surroundings and got trucked for it, as I'm sure he would have done to Dube if their places were reversed.

Hes doing great letting the guys play, its mans game, if you're not happy about a hit, hit back or drop the gloves

The players who hit the Ducks in the head would be suspended. Parros loves the Ducks and goes out of his way to protect his former team.

Kevin Fiala boards a guy, gets a game misconduct and kicked out, first-time offender, one of the leading scorers for the Wild. Parros suspends him 3 games! Who is biggest threat to the Ducks getting the fourth and final playoff spot in the West: the Wild.

Coincidence?
If only there was a level of consistency to allude to decisions being made in a bias way, at least it would demonstrate some sort of considered thought process.

The Fiala’s suspensions was spot on, but that was just luck and there are plenty that are being missed/ignored. The decision making is all over the place and I can’t even begin to explain the reasoning that is taking place.

I've said this forever, but you touch the head, you get 2 games+. If you injure a guy, you're out for x games + however long he is out for. The DOPS needs consistency with their rulings so guys know they'll if they do x, they get y punishment. Currently its up in the air if they'll even get a penalty let alone a suspension.

Problem with that is there would be more diving then what we had with the Hab's in the 1990's ask Boston.

This topic seems like complaining about how NHL referees are the worst, but I'll ask: has there been any VP of Player Safety who fans agree did a good job?

Dear George Parros..

you are fired,, you are terrible at your job and if your trying to take head shots out of the game, you are only contributing to the problem by allowing it to happen without suspensions.

Dubes hit on Koko in last nights game was disgusting. Time for you to go.
Sorry your favorite player got embarrassed, but that his wasnt suspension worthy

Shanahan really wasn’t that bad.. it was the presentation that did him in. Especially after the NHL Awards where he was openly mocked by Will Arnett. Not saying it wasn’t funny, but league probably shouldn’t have allowed that to go down

Clearly there should have been a penalty and a suspension

Can you find another hit that target's the head as much as that?

Do you have to go back to Cooke vs Savard to find something equally bad?

Or maybe players should stop trying to kill each other ? I respect your opinion even though I think it's stupid
Come on. It wasn't attempted manslaughter. It was a quick play, Dube goes for a hit, Kotkaniemi turns, there's contact to head but it's not the principal point of it. Calling it 2 or 2+2 for hitting just to keep things under control would've been fine. It's not like it was a missed 10 gamer. Neither is an early spring cleaning at DoPS warranted.

Is this a legitimate question or are you trying to make a point?

These kind of hits have been happening all the time lately and the league doesn’t bat an eyelash at most of them. It’s starting to anger a lot of players as well.. more guys speaking out saying they don’t know what will be called by officials or suspended by the league.

An early spring cleaning at DoPS has been warranted for a couple years now...

Seems like people have selective memory, or don’t want to dump on them now since that would be indicting their player who recently got away with one
