its sad that people need to be entertained by being someone throwing out misinformation.

in a perfect world

we would sign rodon for a 1 year deal. hope you can get the max out of him and another compo pick if he outprices himself over a great season.
sign gausman to 3 year deal
sign ray to a 3 years but i assume someone will give him 5 years or more

i still have my objections on re signing ray. he has went from lights out to bad a couple times over his career and compared to how jekyll and hide his last 3 seasons have been i do have a issue with a long term contract with out any managerial opt outs. incase the wheels fall off or he cant hit the strike zone again.
I agree on rodon. Perfect replacement for matz. Im not sold on ray either. 5,125 is a lot of money and last yr is the best you will get. Dont see him doing that again. I like the idea of going after miami and oaklands pitchers

As long as its not one of the oft injured arms from the marlins i could get behind that

If your taking a pitcher from oakland make sure he has better road splits.

We have seen enough a's pitchers fall a part once they leave that staidum

The Jays have a history of turning A's players into MVP candidates. EE was briefly on the A's but returned to the Jays where he became an elite slugger. Then Donaldson became an MVP and now Semien is an MVP candidate. I have a feeling Chapman is going to be extremely elite if he gets to play on the Jays at AL East parks

How much do you think it would take to grab Chapman + one of Montas/Mananea/Bassit?

Aaron Loup to the Angels on a 2 year deal

The Angels announced they’ve signed reliever Aaron Loup to a two-year contract. It’s a $17MM guarantee, the team announced. He’ll receive successive $7.5MM salaries in 2022 and 2023, and the deal also contains a $7.5MM club option for 2024 that comes with a $2MM buyout. Loup is a client of the Beverley Hills Sports Council.

Free agency picking up a bit. Giants sign desclafani and alex wood. Wonder if this means they wont be bringing back gausman. Good news for the jays if Ray asks too much

Some good numbers for them. Hopefully it suppresses Ray and Matz to affordable numbers.

I think someone brought his name up but Jon Gray would be an awesome addition. Get this guy out of Coors field and he could potentially be something special.

This is Bob McCowan’s real account, just don’t know if this is true or if he fell for the fake Rosenthal tweet for earlier in the day.

I’m not too concerned about losing Matz at this point. For some reason I’d prefer we not sign him. Have a feeling he’s going to get more than he’s worth
Same. Would've been cool with him on a team friendly deal but with the amount of interest he's had, I'm good with him leaving

I hope the jays go for rodon to replace matz. Bit would still need a ray or gausman type to be front of the rotation with berrios

All free agents tend to get overpaid, but Matz is pretty easily replaceable. He's a back of the rotation starter who we got as a reclamation project for peanuts and had a good year.

If I'm going to overpay, we need to do it for a front line starter, either with cash for a free agent or prospects for a Castillo or an A's starter.

Power of TJ surgery. Could only get a 1 year last year, then blows his elbow and will command a 2 year deal.

This is either because teams really are spending a lot more this year or that his medical last year were even worse than we knew and surgery made people feel better about his health
