Lol Kings cleared 1.7 million and they had way too many dmen as is, doubt it changes whether they were or were not going for PLD.

He's not that good.

LA now has 9 mill.

They need 2, or 3 d, but that's possibly coming from within. 1 forward with Vilardi as the main RFA.

1, but likely 2 goalies. Copley isn't good.
Well if he's not good at 1.7M for one year it's still a very good deal for Arizona.

As for LA, they have an abundance of trading piece but no cap space.

Kings suddenly have a lot more space.

I think they're getting Dubois.

Possible. However it looks like Preds made more room to possibly acquire PLD.

Preds and Kings both are teams aside from Habs to be interested in Dubois. However, Preds made $4M in cap space today by trading Johansen and Kings only made $1.7M in cap space by trading Durzi.

According to CapFriendly, Kings have a little over $9M in cap space. Preds have about $19.5M in space. So not only did Preds already have more cap space before the trades, they also made more room between the two teams.

It drove me nuts how some posters would misleadingly use the age 24 as a sale pitch to hype him up.
🤣
An offer sheet wouldn't hurt Winnipeg, it would probably get them a bigger return, if not, they match it

I don't think Winnipeg cares about an offer sheet
They probably would like it....
There season ticket holders may not

The offer sheet scenario is unrealistic. PLD holds all the cards and will end up where he wants to play as any team would need him extended and he would only sign such an extension if the team is one he wants to play for. Pretty simple. Welcome to being rich and an upcoming FA. If he wants Montreal, it will be Montreal. End of story.
So true...

Flash the cash and term , he is traded

Good point, I just figure LA has had more smoke.

But Trotz might be looking for a big splash and Dubois would definitely be that.

I believe it does. LAK are competing and going for it, they are more inclined to pay a premium price to put them over the top. Hughes was never going to overpay for PLD, as awesome as it would have been to get him.
They have almost no cap with players to resign and no good goalie. It's not because they cleared $1.7M that it changes that.

Wasn't Durzi exactly what Winnipeg is looking for, an established RD? If a deal was imminent I would figure he wouldn't have been dealt to Arizona unless Winnipeg has changed course and looking for draft picks instead.

I think Jets would be looking for centers more than RD. They do have Pionk and DeMelo (Durzi is better and younger than both), but with PLD on his way out and Scheifele eventually on the move, I think Jets would prioritize centers over RDs.

No one really knows what Winnipeg wants. It's all guesses by "insiders" and fans.
