Columbus lost Marchenko and Fabbro last night to join Sean Monahan and Boone Jenner on the shelf. Marchenko is a big loss as he has scored 21 goals and 34 assists for 55 total points this season and will be out for awhile after suffering a broken jaw after getting hit by a puck.

Dean Evason is a great coach for an underdog team. Keeps them fighting. Just comparing the Jackets schedule over the next 15 with the Rangers. Columbus has 2 against Florida, 2 against Jersey, 2 against Detroit, Dallas, Vegas as well and Rangers have 3 against NYI, 2 against Pens, Nashville, Buffalo, Boston in there.

And the two teams play each other 3 times in that span.

Jackets are the Cinderella story, but I think that Disney would like to the story to end with a Rangers playoff appearance. On the other hand Jackets and Senators play 3 times in 11 games at the end of the season and those could be playoff position battles, if Detroit or Tampa pushes past the Sens.

lol goals per game scored is 1 goal difference.
So I guess the wings also have a case of anorexia nervosa. (Whatever that is)
Now do goals against per game, wings lose again
Not the 2 flexes you hoped for, instead you end up getting flexed. 🤣

Someone pointed out the stats since DRWs coaching change. It's obvious you don't want to acknowledge that.

And what does that have to do with you being wrong twice over. It was literally proven to you.
It’s ok to acknowledge you screwed up,

6 in a row doesn’t change the fact that you got flexed yesterday.

That series would be good, but why would it funny.?
Because the Leafs of the past decade are known for failing or choking in the first round and they'd be battling against the Sens who, back then, had some awful performances in the playoffs too... against Toronto.

Plus, it'd be another first round series where the Leafs would be at risk of choking since they'd easily be the favorites. Although, I'll admit that if the Sens got back Ullmark at 100%, it might not be a complete upset if they beat the Leafs in a series.

It's funny you are bragging your team has scored 1 LESS goal than a rebuilding team that was poised to draft James Hagens literally 3.5 weeks ago.

Weird flex, but you can have that "win". LOL :D

Curious to see if they can keep up their success. The analytics are pessimistic about their playoff chances.

But there are teams that get consistently overrated or underrated by fancy stats due to their playing style, maybe CBJ is one of them?
Don’t count on it

Fabbro
Marchenko
Jenner
Monahan
Chinakhov
Gudbranson

All hurt

Why would Disney prefer the Rangers? There is no Disney story to be told if CBJ doesn't make it lol
I see you snuck in Gudbranson's name into that list of good players.
Gudbranson is a leader in the locker room and is one of the only physical forces on the D. Not to mention he played a huge role on the PK, he may not be a cornerstone piece but he's a role player whom we don't have a replacement for on the roster.

Marketing the biggest market would be the simple answer. ABC/ESPN loves the Rangers. So too does Uncle Gary.

Columbus won't draw as many fans in the playoffs, but the Johnny Gaudreau tragedy, and their resilience through a lot of adversity this season is a great story. I think a lot of people want to see the biggest underdog get in. I'm interested to see how Waddell moves closer to the deadline, with Provorov, who might be an asset that the Jackets want to redeem on, to build for the future. Also Fabbro who has exceeded his waiver wire status since being picked up.

I'm going to going out on a limb and predict Rangers and Jackets as the two wild cards.

I get all that, I was more making a joke about there not being a Disney story if nyr makes it, it's just another playoff appearance for them. There's only a story if Columbus makes it.

Maybe for the East Coast. The Redwings actually have more fans all over the US and Canada than the Rangers and consistently had better ratings in telecast in North America when they were playing in the playoffs a decade ago.

In many nontraditional hockey markets the Redwings would sometimes have more fans than the home crowd in away games including at Columbus in it's early years. After 8 long years they are due to return to the playoffs and I believe it will start this spring.

The Redwings have had the best record in the NHL since McLellan took over as coach including having away wins against teams that were among the leaders in points in the NHL at that time.

Columbus would have had a good chance if it were not for their injuries but those were tough players to lose even with Werenski having a Norris level season. As for the Rangers, it would be hard for them to catch up
with so many teams ahead of them in WC race. They even lost to the hardluck Bruins which has been trending down lately even after their trade.

Boston is only on a 88 point pace. Unless they get hot, they ain't getting in.

I don't see it. 85 point pace right now. They could get hot, but I think they fall just short. Other teams around them will be playing well also. I take Detroit over them, definitely. Tampa and Ottawa are getting in also. They won't have a chair after 82 games.
