Just for ***** and giggles, I'll make my prediction for what the pitching staff will look like

SP: Marcus Stroman (R)
SP: Marco Estrada (R)
SP: J.A. Happ (L)
SP: R.A. Dickey (R)
SP: Aaron Sanchez (R)

LR: Gavin Floyd (R)
MR: Jesse Chavez (R)
MR: Pat Venditte (S)
MR: Randy Choate (L)
SU: Roberto Osuna (R)
SU: Brett Cecil (L)
CL: Drew Storen (R)

Although I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Floyd get the final rotation spot. I would also like to see Biagini be given a chance or for them to work out a minor trade for him with San Francisco.

I agree with most of that, but I don't think that the team needs to take both Venditte and Choate. Venditte may be a switch pitcher, but he's better vs LHBs. His optimal role is probably as a sort of flex LOOGY that can handle occasional righties to avoid having to come out in L-R-L sequences.

So my one change would be to swap out Choate for Biagini. If Venditte can't handle the LOOGY role, then you replace him with Choate (unless Choate has a walk clause in his deal).

Estrada not his 'crisp' self, but still comes out with a good outing. It was really about getting his work in anyway.

Ceciliani just won't go away. He's had a good spring.

Estrada has some catching up to do. Hopefully, he can get most of the rust out by the start of the season

I would like to see Ceciliani get the fourth outfielder spot but unfortunately I see Zeke getting it, although he has not exactly deserved it. I'd much rather Ceciliani or Lake get it over him. Hell, I'd take Burns over Zeke.

Do you even have a point? Like what I said was not wrong so I'm not even going to bother wasting my time with it anymore I am assuming your problem with what I said is semantics and that is your problem not mine.

If you're not wrong, you should have no trouble proving it. Pretty sure that's his point: that your argument has to be more than "I'm right, this is fact. End of story."

I made a statement that Syndergaard is an upper tier number 2, I never even implied "I'm right, this is fact, end of story" before any of his replies. Syndergaard is a upper tier number 2 who could push into ace status this year. I really didn't think that was an outlandish opinion to hold seeing as that is pretty much the consensus around baseball  That is why I assumed it was semantics in the use of the term #2. But if anybody doesn't think he is that good

Read earlier today that Burns has had an excellent spring as well. Is that not the case?

If you replace " Noah is an upper number 2" with "Noah is really really really really really good", the context of his post still makes sense. And I'm sure everyone agrees Thor is a great young pitcher.

Of course, the Dickey trade was beaten to death years ago, so I guess it's less that Thor is a good pitcher, and more complaining about things long dead and gone?

That is exactly what I mean it's clearly all semantics lol whether I said he was a number 2 or just said he is one of the best young pitchers in baseball it doesn't change my point in anyway.

Burns has had a great spring and I am a supporter of his. But he isn't an outfielder, he's an infielder who is still learning the outfield but could hold his own out there. I'd rather he get more time in the OF before we give him the fourth OF spot. Although personally I would take Burns north over Barney, but I can't see that happening.

Swervin already posted some of his stats, and really, it isn't something that can be argued against at this point. For pitchers with >150 innings pitched in 2015 he ranked 7th in xFIP, 10th in K/BB, 13th in SwStr%, 10th in contact%, 7th in SIERA, and 32nd in ERA-. Majority of his stats have him pegged as elite, while his ERA is merely above average closing in on great. He gets dinged on keeping the ball in the park, but that'll be improved upon further refining his fastball command. It isn't outlandish to say he's a great #2 just like it isn't outlandish to say that Jose Fernandez is an ace.

Good Cecil got his bad outing out the way tonight. Ceciliani has had a tremendous spring

He was ok despite the statline. Hit his spots. Curve looked good. One of the hits was a bleeder, and the hr was a tomahawk by Bourjos. He looks ready.

I supported Lake as the best fourth OF option heading into the spring with Burns as my second choice. I think using a right-handed bat in that role just makes the most sense, but it's hard to argue against Ceciliani at this point. He's definitely earned a shot.

The under/over ratings to Martin and Molina is getting ridiculous.

Also I'm not entirely sure I understand Greinke over Donaldson. If anything Donaldson should be ahead of McCutchen.
