Two points out of first in the league. 👀
Leafs have a serious and excellent opportunity to win their first ever president’s trophy. Even in the pat burns/Pat Quinn eras they couldn’t win their division. The only exception to the rule was the 1999-2000 season,Quinn’s second year as head coach and first year as GM (in that season, Toronto won the former northeast division by 5 points over 6th seeded Ottawa and finished 3rd in the east )

They also won the Canadian division title in the Covid bubble season in 2021. But it wasn’t a legit 82-game nhl season. Asterisk

If I recall correctly, the Maple Leafs never finished first in their conference or in the entire league since the 1967 expansion.

Not every win is a Picasso but that performance was stick figures painted in excrement bad 😂

Woll was outstanding and the first line showed up, we were solid defensively but that's about it

I'll never apologize for winning though so suck on that Philly and onto the next one

I couldn’t watch the game, but I was keeping tabs on The Score app. Did the Leafs win the game with only 2 shots in the first period? Tell me that was a glitch please.

This was the second time this year they had less than 10 shots after the first 2 periods.
They won both games lol

One thing, we stay calm in the third now and find a way. Looks a pattern.

I thought they looked great in the third right up until Patches took the delay of game, five minutes of fire drill after that to close it out. But they patiently controlled it and took the lead for 15m of it. After patiently sticking around and not letting a game they weren't great in get away from them. I give them credit for it.

And Woll credit for especially the last 5m there.

All due respect, I think you are overthinking this. They have won the last five games because they have played three really mediocre teams. Like it or not, it's not easy to get up for those games. Watch what they do in Carolina. I think we will see the leafs from earlier this season.

I'll buy Philly and the Isles, but you can't tell me they don't get up for the Bruins.

Missed the game glad they got it done again. Of course I was keeping tabs on trusty theScore app. 6 point lead on the division I think is a first this season.

The AI bots are thriving. Tabs will be kept on the app being pushed, human.

If low event hockey means not shooting it then the Leafs have that down pat.

They won and that's all that matters. Dewar doing more to stay in the lineup than Reaves. Not sure why they even bothered to dress Reaves to begin with.

All he did was skate around being a liability.

Hathaway didn't want to fight. So why didn't Reaves grab someone else and dummy him. Shooting a few stink eyes isn't gonna intimidate or deter anyone.

If he takes a penalty that could only be a good thing.

Addition by subtraction for two minutes. Reaves can't screw up if he isn't even on the ice. Seeing him punch someone out just for wearing a Flyer's uniform would have been the highlight of the game.

Low event hockey or not sometimes the score just needs to be settled.

Faster teams often make them look like they did last night. Even though it was a decent effort by the Leafs they don’t want any piece of that team in the playoffs.

I'm not sure it is the PP coach when we've had numerous with similar results. The same cast might be the issue.
They advertise their passes and they have no zip on far too many of them allowing the defenders time to react. That’s the biggest problem once they’ve entered the zone.

Awful start, got better as the game went along. Between a C+ to a B- for me. The execution seems to be off right now though, every play and pass seems like it's 2x harder then what it should be.

Goaltending and D-core apart from the Timmins play stood out. Thought the forwards were just okay, no one really had a really good game, only player I thought that played below par would be Nylander, but he's in mid season don't give a shit mode right now.

More likely in migraine hell.

His play is very much like it was at the end of last season when he went goalless for the last 10 or so games when he still had a shot at 50.

Got to give this team credit they keep finding ways to win they have been doing it all year.

The way to win last night was "Joseph Woll is going to steal us this game." because that's what he did he was fantastic, again, that and Owen Tippett somehow missing that open net, I don't know how that happened but it did.

Didn't think they were very good last night, honestly don't think they have been good the last 3 games.

A LOT of dumbass mistakes, particularly Timmins on the 2nd goal

and Patches on the delay of game penalty, that ia the most stupid, selfish penalty you can take there is NO EXCUSE for that.

But credit to the PK they were fantastic.

Matthews with ANOTHER 2 point game, 7 points in 3 games he's back.

Willy needs to get going I don't know if he's got the flu or what but he's been AWFUL lately.

I do want to see them play MUCH better against but hey 6 points up on Florida, 11 points up on Boston and 12 up on Tampa, they have earned that.

Simple: Depending on who Reaves dummied, Hathaway is then free to do the same to a Leaf. Reaves takes out one of what Philly considers a top player then expect the same back. Want to loose Mo or JT Too?

Yeah, you're probably right, that's exactly why he did nothing... again.
