Interesting scheduling the rest of the way.

The western Canada trip (plus Seattle) in the week before the break of the 4 Nations Cup

A road trip to Vegas, Colorado, and Utah in early March

The California trip at the end of March

The Leafs actually only play at home once in February. And from February on, only one 4 game home stand and one set of back to back games at home. The rest are one offs before they go back on the road.

It’s good that they’ve played well at home and gotten a cushion in the standings because that much travel can be tiring.

Anyone still want to argue with me about whether the Leafs will win the Atlantic divsion?
I will. I don't think they'll win the division. Would you have bet on Matthews hitting 70 last year when he had 69? Would you bet on Marner hitting 100 in 2023? This team does that shit bro, don't count your eggs yet.

That guy should be embarrassed, sucker punching 2 guys and neither of them looked worse for wear

I love Philly fans….they hate everybody equally….plus throwing batteries on Santa, starting a stadium snowball fight, throwing cancer bracelets on the ice….

And when they can’t find somebody else to hate on, they start fighting among themselves.

You walk into Philly doing that, then you deserve to get punched in the face.

You want to make a charity bet on it, I'm happy to oblige.

the fact people are still defending reaves and his place on the team is..uhhh..interesting?
he's washed, period.

dude hasnt fought since like march of last year, and if hes not gonna play that role then hes not even an ECHL level talent at this point. he doesnt "deter" anyone from anything anymore, whos afraid of a fighter who wont fight? tbh he should feel embarrased about taking a roster spot from a player that deserves to be in the NHL.

he needs to get lost.

The issue is that Berube's style of hockey isn't really more defensive. It's just less offensive. We've put up the 18th best defensive results in the league so far. That's not an area of strength. Even if people don't like defensive stats, and want to ignore that goaltending has carried us, we're 9th in goals against. Do people just forget that we were 7th in the league in GA in 2020-2021 and 2022-2023?

We've given up the 12th most rebound shots and goals in the league. We're giving up more second chance shots. As for our forwards; we've dropped down to 15th in rebound shots and 23rd in rebound goals. We won games like this in the past when we got goaltending like this. We just had less bad games in the first place, and less goaltending performances like this. People still don't seem to get the difference goaltending can make; in both outcome and perception.
Can’t win without great goaltending but Berube has them playing a style that leverages off of that and wins in the playoffs. It’s pretty obvious to see how different their structure and game plan is. The sky isn’t falling.

I didn't imply anything.

I stated a truth. Reaves did nothing. Not for the first time either.

You don't need permission before punching a guy in the face.
As long s you are ok with 5, 10 and a game vs 2 minutes in a close game.

Or some other very shorthanded situation when tied....

Berube should win the Jack Adams at this rate but he probably won't even be a finalist.
I am not sold. The Leafs have been 100+ point team for years. They are not leading the league in any catergory and I believe they will give it one of the teams that makes a surprise Wild-card.

Keefe has a shot if NJ can replicate their first half.

Right now I think it's a 5 man race.

In no order, Keefe, Berube, Hynes, Carbery and Evason if Columbus can keep it close based on what transpired this summer

I don't know where this myth came from, but this style does not win in the playoffs. Playing poorly certainly does not win in the playoffs. Good goaltending is a big contributor to wins in the playoffs, but you don't need to play badly or a certain style to get good goaltending, and you will always get more wins in the playoffs playing well and getting good goaltending than playing poorly and getting good goaltending. The sky isn't falling. But there are absolutely some concerning cracks that shouldn't be there.

They are figuring out new ways to win games, while the team is fairly injured and some of their key players aren't playing their best.

I like it..

I never understood fans assaulting each other... I mean why pick up an assault charge and ruin your life over a professional sports team you support?

Not sure, but I assume police/arena security would get involved, no?
You would hope so. The Usher closest to it had no interest it seemed.
I wonder what the smaller guy said to him to make him stop his barrage and walk away?

60 years of watching hockey does not = myth.

There's nothing that's changed under Berube that has historically helped teams win more in the playoffs. At least not in any kind of recent history. I don't know what was happening 60 years ago, but I doubt playing poorly helped then either.
