The guy is a beast. Strength and speed top notch. He just plows people over. He has all the tools to be a top power forward in this league.
Kreider, emerging as a serious threat to win the Calder as Rookie of the Year, is becoming one of the NHL’s most immovable forces from in front. That’s where he was to chip home the loose puck that all but ensured that the Rangers would get at least one point out of the match.
I just want you all to remember that Kreider got us a point last night in a game we did not deserve to get points from... I think.
Good Point. In fact they dont use kreider's size enough in front of the net. The last 2 games kreider was open directly in fornt of the net and they havent taken advantage of it. Kreider can be like Kesler if the rangers use that to tehir advantageEspo made a HOF career out of being an immovable object in front of the net. Obviously Kreider can skate like the wind, but once the Rangers establish possession in the offensive zone Kreider would be wise to park his rear in front of the net and use his strength to outmuscle his check.
"The thing about Chris Kreider is when he was in college and other levels below the NHL his skating was so exceptional that he just skates past people, they're just not good enough," NHL Network analyst Craig Button told NHL.com. "At the NHL level not only are guys good enough, but they're smart enough to cut you off. What I see with his skating now, he's using it now to drive past people. He gets into those one-on-one confrontations and he's not getting negated anymore. Now he's powering through people."
BTW, barely 2 months or so in the season, and am I right? Is Kreider leading us in +/-? Even with not getting every game from day 1? Is he doing better even than, say ... Stepan?
He is leading the team in +/- because he didn't go out west early in the year when the team was getting blown out every game
Oh, I get it!
You're saying if Kreider had recovered faster from the stupidity of playing most of training camp w/Pyatt --- not his fault --- and had been in good enuf form early on, and played in most of those games where Rangers got blown out ... if that were the case, then you're saying...
HAD KREIDER BEEN THERE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE GET GO WE WOULD NOT HAVE SUCKED SO BAD AND LOST SO MUCH!![]()
So what is going on here ? AV's benched Kreider 2 games in a row after what he feels is bad effort.
Is AV right here, or is he simply projecting the shortcomings of Nash and Stepan over to Kreider ?
The play he made after he came back on last night, and the sheer determination and speed which lead to his goal was impressive. What wasnt so impressive was that he actually missed the puck alltogether, granted the end result was a goal.

Actually, what he said was that when the team was at absolute bottom, Kreider was not there accumulating minuses with the rest of them.
Right now, Kreider is performing well below par for a first-liner. He has played okay this year, but nothing better than that. He still has opportunity to improve, obviously, but crowing about him right now while the team absolutely stinks is odd.
I find it very peculiar to constantly re-state that you said he would be great. Even if he turned into Crosby, what would be the point? Are you that insecure about your opinions that you are driven to try and impress people you don't know? Don't you understand that no one cares about this stuff besides you?
We get it. You like him. Why not just enjoy watching him?

Its a pretty interesting read to see how far he has come... "models his game after Ovechkin"is getting more real every game
Some peopl e acted like ***** so you are being an ass. Very third grade. It's very simple 95ish% of the board was civil, but the rest were jerks about my opinions about Kreider. And it is not a matter that they were wrong on the facts, like a lot of people. It is entirely because they were rude and arrogant.
What goes around comes around.
It is not a matter of me caring what these people think of me.
It is a matter of be careful who you attempt to be-atch slap, because payback is a be-atch.
This will not continue indefinitely.
I am waiting --- apparently it will not have to be too much longer --- before it is UNARGUABLE that Kreider is worth more to us than Stepan. Then I can claim total victory is mine, those who were disrespectful to the nth degree can bend, buckle and break in their arrogance.
Upon such complete victory, then the issue can be dropped.
Not before.
And the entire board is witness to what I said is true.
The guilty parties, we all know who they are...
Of course, this process could be expedited if the guilty stepped forth and apologized and admitted I was right and they were wrong.
But that's expecting TOO MUCH.
