I dont use war and all those garbage stats. Just watch a guy. You can see if he can still play or not. Morales can bautista cannot. Clutch hitting is where id give the extra money to a guy. This team clutch hitting is a problem. I dont mean home runs either.

Not sure why anybody would even bring up WAR for a DH. Again, his contract is market value for a guy who hits 30 HR w/ 100 RBI. Something that he's on pace for.

What do you think a DH on his contract should produce? 45+ HR 130+ RBI? Come on.

His WAR includes his offensive production; which according to every advanced offensive measure is negative right now. Carrera has had better offensive output than Morales.

Interesting. Now tell me, how do you feel about Dioner "grit" Navarro? :sarcasm:

I assume you missed my 2nd post on the subject.

not my words. I liked the move, but some people were saying it was horrible. I was basically saying the so called bad move was our only good hitter left in the lineup.

I saw it after I posted this. But felt it was worth keeping up so those people had something insightful to see.

too bad about the injuries because this team is battling.

and that was a lot of good at bats against a very good reliever.

now we have some weaker teams coming up.

I dont know how scouts and managers and gm's ever won anything without a computer telling them who is good and who isnt.

"I used to be with "it." Then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it," and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me."

I'm really interested to read the whole piece, mostly because Ben Revere is a really bad defender.

He has better too end speed, but his initial reaction and how he reads balls is slightly worse. Aswell as the arm. If there was a runner on 1st and less than 2 outs on that play, the runner would be on 2nd after the catch is made.

For me, his issue has always been tracking the ball. He's fast, but speed only gets you so far if you have to take a winding, roundabout path with a couple awkward spins mixed in to get from Point A to Point B.

Good to see Vlad in the top 20. Alford with quite the jump as well. Surprised to see Rowdy still in the top 100 after a slow start, I suspect many would use this as a reason to keep him out and proof that he can't hit advanced pitching. or maybe that's just Keith law. Bo might be a tad low but he doesn't really have the draft or IFA pedigree that a lot of these guys have and less than a year of results at a low level. I suspect he'll move up fast if he continues at this rate.

Also yay for Justin Smoak finally achieving levels of career ineptitude

As a fast guy with crappy reads, I concur with this.

Also, not sure what Petriello is trying to prove. I believe Pillar has proven himself to be a plus plus defender. Using Ben Revere, who is as useful as a dry wetnap, is clearly an attempt to be cheeky.

Center Field – Kevin Pillar, Toronto Blue Jays
Kevin Pillar upstaged Kevin Kiermaier. It was not easy as Kiermaier set a record for the highest single season total of Defensive Runs Saved in 2015 with 42. But in 2016 Pillar continued his reign as King of the Web Gem and added in 21 runs saved to boot. Kiermaier did have 25 DRS for the Tampa Bay Rays, but when it came to making catches, Pillar saved 47 bases compared to 34 for Kiermaier. The Fielding Bible Award voters rewarded Pillar with his first award in a close vote, 109 points to 106 points for Kiermaier.

(still hate you, Kevin)
