And whoever started that "admit you were wrong about Leafs goaltending" thread on the main boards needs their account suspended indefinitely. We officially have very bad goaltending at this point. This why you don't make threads like that.

100% agreed. I ignored that thread the second it was made on the main boards. Whoever made that thread is a clown and deserved the embarrassment and mockery. The Stanley cup isn’t won in November and December

I have too many hard years as a Leafs fan to fall into that trap. When we were up 3-1 in that series against the Habs 2 years ago, some guy was making comments on the main board like the series was a done deal. I tried to help him by saying it's going to really, really sting if they lose the series after talking like that. Like I said, I tried to help him.

Great first 10 minutes.

Even at 1-1 it was a decent game... and then? They just stopped, doing everything. What in the actual f*** was that?

Glad I skipped that one live. I watched on PVR and can honestly say I did not see much of that third.

Losses will come, it's all about how you lose. They just got trashed without as much as a whimper. Pathetic effort.

I'd much rather have that. Sounds like CAR put in a full effort and got goalied. We didn't put any kind of effort once SEA got the 2-1 lead. It looked like the entire team said "ah f*** it I am done with this game".

I guess it is one game in a long season, but recent games have looked a lot like this with the exception that we have been able to score.

Goaltending sucked again but something happened when the regular defencemen came back, particularly Rielly. The attention to detail, the safe plays, the minimal gambling…all the things that lead to success, have withered. I know it’s a human reaction to let up when things go back to normal, but the focus is no longer there for 60 minutes.

I know it’s not a popular thing to say but I’d look to trade Rielly when it’s possible. He offers little to nothing on defence, and offensively he’s been a dud. He was pinching from the start, and other dmen followed. Giordano was mostly at fault for McCanns goal but Rielly was looking to pinch when Gio was already in the corner. Clueless defensively.

The goaltending wasn't exactly stellar but the team just seemed to quit and stopped skating which was mildly concerning

The goaltending was unsustainably good earlier in the season and I think it's unsustainably bad now, it will regress to the mean eventually

It sucks when you're goaltending goes through a trough though
