After the shock wearing off, I still am not the happiest with the win. The Leafs can't have these large gaps of utterly terrible hockey. It's one thing to lose but losing that terribly is no bueno.

Finding ways to win these kind of games is fantastic though. It creates a lot of confidence and momentum. I just really f***ing hope we don't get these terrible efforts for over half a game for awhile. The Leafs probably could use a defensive shake up because Holl and Giordano are struggling hard. Giordano almost gave up a goal with a turnover with 1 minute left in the 3rd, but the puck just went wide.

I'm very happy that Matthews came up big when needed. Samsonov was big when needed.
They need to stick with Matthews/Nylander and Tavares/Marner, it forces Cirelli to only play against one of them

Leafs have 2 days to have their defenseman figure out how to make a pass + unlock Tampa's neutral zone structure. Those 2 have been fundamental reasons we've struggled

But that's a problem for tomorrow, WOW WHAT A COMEBACK BABY

You dont need more out of Laff. He's doing great in his role
4th line has been our best line until 3rd period. No need to change that line around

Bunting is not grindy enough to play 4th line. Frankly speaking, I would consider Simmonds over putting Bunting back in. At least Simmonds is good at one thing he does

4th line was a tire fire both games in Tampa, virtually unplayable in game 3

They're fine at home because you can avoid matchups, but if it goes back to Tampa, might need switch it up

Bunting is garbage defensively but could be solid in a 3rd line role with responsible players . I don't think he'll get in for game 5, but maybe 6 if it goes that far

It's actually wild to me that all of a sudden Mo's flutter shots just make it though everyone lol .

Maybe it's the perfect combination of an unpredictable flutter shot and a goalie whose bad at tracking point shots, all of a sudden without McDonagh, Cernak and Ruuta.

You aren’t concerned he is likely to take a couple of stupid penalties. I can see Tampa trying their best to set him off.
I'm not 100% sure where I stand on him, but it is similar to the Knies situation in my opinion.

I think we play our 18 best skaters (or the best 4 line combos if thats different) instead of worrying about what could happen (inexperience with Knies, bad penalties from Bunting). I think Bunting will be very careful after coming back from a suspension where he blew the game for us.

Either way, I won't argue with the decision. It's a coin flip call to me. If I had it my way I'd probably put in Bunting and Liljegren for Lafferty and Holl, but I do value what the later two bring to this team.

Disagree, you are going to need him more than Lafferty. Bolts going to be playing as desperate hockey as you will see.

Knies Matthews Nylander
Jarnkrok O'Reilly Marner
Bunting Tavares Acciari
ZAR Kampf Kerfoot.
It can go either way with Bunting, either he comes in and play out of his mind good or he comes in and play ultra aggressive and gets tag for every little thing.
Don’t want to take that risk.
