March sucks, the timing of his injury sucks. It's obvious his injury seriously impacted his return value. Hoping bruins good will sending him to a team of his choice will help a possible return next fall.

I'm curious to know where the bruins rank in the prospect polls today?

Did we? I believe another team brokered the 15% and got a prospect from Toronto.

Per Puckpedia we did. In fact between Marchy, Freddy & Carlo were retaining $4.8 million this year

A- for me

Would’ve liked more for Marchand but ultimately the reason they didn’t get more is because they did right by Brad, and knowing that it’s a good trade
63 was tough to grade....We know what he could be, we know what he has been this year....I think a lot of that was frustration penalties, trying to do too much

Along with injury and being FA I think we did OK

3 firsts and 3 seconds for the next 2 years. If they draft right they accelerated the rebuild big time. Cap going up too so easily now can afford a legit talent (Ehlers? Marner?)No more kicking the can down the road for one last cup for the old core.

I voted B but meant to click A

Thrilled that Coyle and Carlo are gone, biggest concern is Middlestadt becomes a Temu version of Craig Janney. B+

Did what was necessary. I don't really like the Marchand deal, I think we could've gotten a 1st/2nd in the upcoming draft, or even the 2026. But I know he was doing right by Marchy so I can't totally hate him for it.

2011 game 7 was the happiest day of the 2000's. Game 6 win was second happiest. The win against the habs that same year is right up there.

But yesterday is one of the top 5 best days as a fan to me. Yesterday we learned some things, and we got a future!

A top6 center in Mittelstadt.
Potentially two 1st's, two 2nd's, a 4th and 6th.
Five new prospects including two high-end guys in Zeller and Minten.

If they re-sign Marchand on July 1st it becomes an A+.
Couple questions:

Do you really think Mittlestadt is a top 6 center? He seems at best Coyle, whom I’d not call a top 6 center. And the value in this deal says they agreed he wasn’t Coyle level.

On Marchand, it’s interesting to me that they traded two assistant captains and their captain. I’m taking from that more than just coincidence. I’m wondering - any chance they have no intention of bringing him back?

Really?

That's kind of sad.

Depends. Like I know people who eat only plain Ruffles, only enjoy missionary, and are afraid of change.

And then there are people like me. Change is exciting! Don in his presser is saying this will happen in short order with this new start. I believe!

And I may be weird, but I'm so excited to see Coyle, Carlo and Marchy get cracks at the cup. Love that for them.

Easy A.

The biggest win is they didn't half ass it. They went all in on the fire sale and got great prospects, a young but flawed C and loaded up on 1st and 2nd round picks.

He got what he could for Marchand. We're talking about a 36 year old injured rental with an NTC... not exactly the dream leverage scenario

I like them turning the page, it was due. I would’ve given Sweeney a better grade if he’d managed to dump Coyle without taking back Middlestat. Anyone know if he can do a pull up yet?

Either a B or a B+.

I liked all the returns for all besides Marchand which I didn’t like at all.

Sending out Carlo and Marchand and only getting a future 2026 first and a conditional 2nd that might turn into a 2028 first is not ideal.

Not against trading Marchand at all it was the right move. But at best a 2028 first who might start playing in the early 2030s does nothing to initiate this rebuild unless it’s traded. So not happy with that.

Certainly have to tthis is just a precursor to an active offseason trade wise. A LOT of 3rd/4th line centers on this team now which I would imagine some are moved this offseason in deals to round out the roster more.

I can't believe people get worked up over a late round pick 😅 very high chance it turns into nothing. Get the guy out of Buffalo and see if you have something, if not he's a UFA so no big deal.

People must of been going nuts when they gave away a 2nd for meh player like Seidenberg, not saying this will turn out the same but who knows.

Unless it's a high first or a first in a super deep draft I prefer younger NHL players over picks. Sweeney probably saw something in Jokiharju at 4 nations and thought why not give him a try.

B. It was a seller’s market and they did a good job overall.

I sure wish they didn’t sign the free agents last summer, it would be nice to have that $13M to allocate with this new direction in mind, but it is what it is, and if Sweeney remains in charge, I am sure we’ll see them package some firsts to to trade at least one of those contracts away in a few seasons, which is how he typically handles the bad contracts he signs.

This team now belongs to Swayman, Pasta, and McAvoy. Let’s see if they rise to the occasion.

A- just because of the pain watching Marchand walk. The rest was golden. They got everything, players who can step in today and fill some of the holes they have, draft picks for trade capital or long term development, and a couple of stud prospects. They got everything in the buffet line
