BU is stacked. McAvoy looking real good. Somerby only has 1 point but he's more of thier shutdown guy.
I have to admit though I expected a bit more goals from bellows. It will come though IMO.

Barzal goal less in six games since being sent back. Four assists, but that's about it. While you like to see him getting points, six games without a goal is a long for a prospect of his caliber.

You have to remember that he hasn't gotten into a game in the last few weeks because our coaching and management don't know how to handle top prospects.

So as if things couldn't be bad enough! I for one thought that when they finally sent him down he would tear it up. But apparently all the talk of how prospects on the Island are being compromised is true. I feel this kid was left hanging all because of a foolish penalty he took while leaving the box. What was the logic why wasn't he returned sooner? Capuano new he wasn't going to play this kid so why toy with his head like he did. I know Barzal will turn it around at some point but I now wonder if he has a shot at the WJC roster.

Remember it took a while for Dal Colle to snap back to shape, he was also on a bad team and needed the trade.

he's a LOCK for the WJC and I also hope they send Beauvillier back (but Garth won't)

McKenzie was talking about the team the other day and essentially said D.Strome's the #1 C and Barzal the #2 C. They aren't strong on the wing and BMack suggested Beauvillier would be a top winger if he's sent back. Apparently Dubois (3rd overall CBJ who's also had a really slow start in junior this year), T Jost two other projected top players.

Barzal's a hell of a good hockey player, superb junior hockey player and was great for CAN last year - he's a LOCK despite his slow start.

Since this post, Barzal has 7 points in 2 games (although only 1 goal). Seems like he is finding his groove. I don't think we need to worry about him.

really, we should expect him to be disappointed in returning. IF we were to be concerned, we should be looking at his defensive play. i want to see him end the year as a + 1,927....

I still think Barzal could've helped the NHL team out this year. Baffling that he couldn't get to play in a few more games given all of the underperformers that are skating nightly for NYI.

Barzal was among the team lead in points centering Ladd and Parenteau during the preseason. That combo should have never been broken up when Tavares returned from the World Cup.

Lee-Tavares-Bailey
Ladd-Barzal-Parenteau

Giving Barzal nine games with the only two players he basically played with in the preseason would have actually been putting him in a position to succeed, and Tavares' two best linemates (possession wise) over his entire career have been Bailey and Lee. Too bad this organization is drowning in unqualified nepotism.

It's actually rampant cronyism rather than nepotism. The only case of nepotism seems to be Greg Picker and he's in the booth rather than in management.

The handling of Barzal is just par for the course during Capuano's regime... not much rhyme or reason for only playing him in 2 games.

Remember Marner and Barzal in the WJC? Look at what Marner is doing. This is an young mans league and especially for high skilled players who can skate.

We can't develop squat and our coaching staff is even worse.

Huge Marner fan, kid is unreal. He was terrible in camp last year, his year in junior helped him immensely.

I see a lot of similarities in Barzal. A lot.

Maybe there same thing happens?

Unfathomable how a team bereft of offensive talent keeps Barzal and only lets him watch, let's Parenteau walk, yet plays Quine, Prince, Kulemin, Chimera hoping for offense, or to spark players like Strome, Lee and Nelson who have shown they cannot carry a line on their own.
