Rumor: Isles going after Petterson; Dobson possibly involved

Vancouver has over 20 million in cap space next year , signing Dobson to around 10 wouldn't be that far fetched honestly.
Not saying they do this since there is only so much PP time to go around and Hughes is a lock on PP1 , but you never know.

We would have the worst top six in hockey, This rumour is just silly.
They made their choice on who they kept, trading two Centres capable of 100 points, 40 goals makes no sense, especially for Dobson, considering our Dcorp.

What do you think would be a fair trade involving Pettersson and Dobson ? Vancouver would need a center coming back if they are trading their 1C , and I'm assuming New York would need a defenseman if they are trading their 1D.

There is no deal to be made between Van and Isles. We don't have a Center to give back. It's obviously as almost every isles fans here stated, Barzal isn't going anywhere. Brock Nelson, is going to be re-signed (although we rather trade him). But even if he was traded, Brock has say where he goes and it wouldn't be Van, it would be Minny or Dallas.

So all this talk about an EP and Dobson rumors are stupid, not happening.

Not sure why, just the rumour going around that they have interest in Dobson. He is a really good d-man and a top four of Hughes/Dobson/Hronek/Pettersson would be the best in the league.
Maybe also insurance just in case Hughes doesn't want to stay in van past his current contract.

FWIW that rumor started before they got Marcus. Possible they were just looking for a #3 and they got it

We need to pick up a complimentary winger for Petey, not move him.

The biggest problem is figuring out who that is. Debrusk was supposed to be that guy this year. If we keep him I am curious who we look at.
I'm a trade Petey guy but resigned to bolstering around him if thats the plan.

Dobson is a great player but does not fit Vancouver's needs. Barzal also is risky with that knee for this year.
Hometown boys tend to not work out for us.

Prefer to throw Vans first out and see what can stick.

Willander will be better than Dobson in 2-3 years.

Canucks not adding him in the deal.

The problem is the right side gets pretty jammed quickly unless the Canucks would then flip Dobson in the off-season.

Did anybody see that documentary called ‘the Puppetmaster’? I think it was on Netflix. A conman had folks thinking he was a spy and had intelligence information. He had them hopping around, disrupting their lives. Something was about to happen. And then at the last second, it didn’t. Repeatedly.
