I hope we end up trading Geo to any team aside from Toronto.

Maybe winning a trade isn't worth maybe giving them a piece that made the difference in a run to the cup.

Disagree and do not follow this logic whatsoever.
I’d take Nylander in return. He’s expensive and the leafs are stacked at F. The marginal decrease at F is more than offset by the increase in G. Meanwhile we get a young playmaker signed to a LT deal who could add credibility to our third line (if we really want to spread around the talent) or swap with Buch on the second.

Well, I mean yeah, I'd fleece [mod] them in a trade too.

Who do you think they would offer in such a trade then? Kapanen? I thought Nylander made sense because of the contract, potentially soured relations after the holdout (even if he ended up resigning), and incredible forward depth.

Weird that there is very little animosity lately between these to teams. Perhaps tonight's game will amp things up.

We need to get back to normal around here....
I’m sure 3 games vs them will ignite the flame. I’ll always hate them and their fans but for the younger fans i can see how the last few seasons the rivalry has cooled a bit.

If we were including Kreider, then I think we could get Kapanen, as long as we take salary back. Ultimately Kreider is a rental though, and I can't see us getting a young star like Nylander or Chabot with him as the centrepiece.

If the trade happens with the Leafs though, I think Bracco + a 3rd or something like that for Geo alone is most likely. They probably would have less interest in Kreider than any other potential partner.

According to Blue Line Station:

On Saturday, Elliotte Friedman reported on “Hockey Night in Canada” that the Blueshirts are ready to field offers for Georgiev. Friedman has good sources and he said that the Rangers are insisting on a good return and want a scoring forward who can help them as early as this year or next. That means an NHL player or a top prospect.

He specifically mentioned Ottawa, Toronto and San Jose as having interest.

Ottawa; 3 players below could be in the works as the basis of a deal.

Duke returns to Broadway? Seems like forever ago he was a blueshirt yet he's only 24. I always liked Duclair. He's got 21 goals on the year. He's a scoring forward, and a good return.

Colin White? He's 22 yrs old with 132 NHL games under his belt. Former 1st rounder. He's playing 3rd line Center. He reached 40pts last year in 71 games. Scored 14g last year in what was really more of his rookie season. Year prior he only had 21 games. He's a good return and more of a player at this point then a prospect.

Chris Tierney is more of an assist guy. Centers the 2nd line in Ott. He's only 25, and is an impending RFA. He's a good return.

Brady Tkachuk? Not happening with Geo as a base for the return.
Tyler Ennis is playing 3rd line W. He has 11 goals on the year. He's a free agent next year so there no real value in him via trade.
Anisimov? One time NYR, is now playing 4th line for Senators, yet he does get PP time on the 2nd unit. Id be dissapointed if he was the return for Geo.
Namestnikov isn't coming back
Filip Chapik? He's got 45 games under his belt. Czechmate for Chytil perhaps? He doesnt have the value Geo does. Smaller peice?

Toronto; I see three potential deals there for Geo, give or take a pick or smaller asset either way.

Well we know which scoring forwards they aren't getting for Geo. Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Nylander (Asssuming he's not part of a larger deal)

Kerfoot? He has been 3rd and 4th line, however he was just inserted into the Leafs top 6. A Promotion or a showcasing? He only has 41 games since the trade. Harvard grad was on their radar in the past. Rangers wanted him in 17. Colorado got him. Plays center and wing and is a Left handed shot. Signed through 22/23 at an affordable $3,500,000. He's a good return.

Kasperi Kapanen? He's been tossed around in rumors with NYR before. A fellow-fin to compliment Kakko perhaps? Fits the bill as a scorer. He's got wheels. Was bumped out of the leafs top 6 this year. Leafs fans toss his name out there often. Affordably signed through 2022. He's a good return.

Andreas Johanssen. He's worked his way up to Leafs top 6 this season. Currently he's on their 3rd line. He's 25 yrs old, and scored 20 goals last year. Affordably signed through 2023. He's a good return.

San Jose; I think there is one player realistically in a one for one swap and there could be other stuff

Lets assume Kane, Marleau, Meier, Thornton, Hertl are off the table.

Kevin Labanc is a brookyln kid. He's 24 years old. This week he has been moved up in the lineup to the Sharks top line. He is also playing on the Power play? Showcasing? Labanc is in his 4th season. He has 10 goals on the year. He's pacing slightly more then last year (17g). He's an impending RFA, due a significant raise. He's a good return.

in that order for me as most despised. Maybe the teams aren’t both good at the same time and things quiet down a bit but deep down if You grew up in the 80s 90s your list probably looks the same.
