First off we don't have the need to bring in a goalie. This is a Toronto want. Second--Georgiev both last year and this year has pushed Henrik (a sure fire HOF goalie once he retires) hard for starts and IMO he's been the better goalie from the 2nd half of last season and for the better part of this season. You can call him a backup goalie all you want but I see a 23 year old who is going to be an NHL starting goalie. That would be also why Toronto would be hot to get him by the way. So IMO you're downgrading him just to make room for Shesterkin. If we're going to move Georgiev we better get something really good back and if Bracco is the best we get for him we're making a very bad deal. The fact that other teams could be in on him too and we're not even that close to the deadline apparently isn't registering with you either. Multiple teams see value in acquiring his services. Just a backup goalie? I don't think so. There are teams he would be their No. 1.
If Gorton trades Georgiev to the Leafs for Bracco and a 3rd I'm going to call him a dumbass. He can do better than that.
don’t get annoyed I’m just asking you if you needed a back up goalie would you trade Kravtsov for one? Toronto has a number one so yes it’s a backup goalie they need.
I love Georgie I think he’s the 2nd best goalie we have.
You’re giving the Rangers too much credit, when’s the last time the Rangers put up 50 shots in a game? Can't wait for Georgiev being traded to Toronto and then posting 50-save shutouts on us.
By the way Georgiev hasn’t played in 10 games. Shesterkin at best his next start would be Thursday. A week between games. But we expect no rust I’m sure.
if Shesterkin starts Thursday Hanks potential next game would be 8 days since last start. A 37 year old starter playing once every 7 or 8 days. Just makes it harder on an already declining goalie trying to stay in a rhythm.
If Shesterkin doesn’t start on Thursday his next potential game 10 days between starts.
this a ****ing mess
If I were a betting man, I'd take the Isles and the over... but what do I know???
FOr which team?Expect big time games from Rob DiMaio, Mick Vukota, and Rich Pilon.
Bracco and a pick seems more than fair for Georgiev imo. There’s nothing left for that kid to prove in the minors. 79 pts as a 21 year old down there last year. No spot for him in a scoring role for Toronto. Worth the risk.
where does he fit here? RW behind buchnevich and kakko putting him in a non-scoring role. sounds like a midget version of vinny letteri
According to Blue Line Station:
On Saturday, Elliotte Friedman reported on “Hockey Night in Canada” that the Blueshirts are ready to field offers for Georgiev. Friedman has good sources and he said that the Rangers are insisting on a good return and want a scoring forward who can help them as early as this year or next. That means an NHL player or a top prospect.
He specifically mentioned Ottawa, Toronto and San Jose as having interest.
