Obvious suspect is Komarov?
Clutterbuck?

Yotes itching to add more vets for picks?
They're not going to break up the identity line, Clutterbuck isn't going anywhere.

No real need to trade Komarov. He's not likely getting picked up on waivers considering his caphit, nor do the Isles need to clear cap.

This is simply about not losing good players on waivers for nothing. They're likely talking about Ross Johnston, Rich Panik and/or Kieffer Bellows.

NYI has two forward spots available and about a million players competing for them.

Interesting. Ya I saw some rumblings NYI was worried of losing Johnston to waivers?

What's the deal with Bellows? Stalled development? Looks like he had a decent year in AHL

Yeah, Johnston is pretty good so he'll be picked up on waivers for sure given the opportunity. So he pretty much needs to be in one of the two open forward spots or traded.

Bellows had a long development curve, but he looks good this training camp. He won't make it through waivers either.

Elliotte Friedman speculated recently that the Isles were worried about losing Ross Johnston on waivers.

If the Isles waive Ross Johnston the Devils will pick him up and he can punch himself in face for the cross check on Hughes. The players police themselves so that should work, right? He can be the deterrent against himself… or something.

Matt Martin has not played a preaseasom game yet due to recovering from an offseason surgery so Johnston will not be hitting waivers right now.

They are more likely looking to move Aho/Bellows/Dal Colle/Golyshev/Panik

Trotz doesn’t trust him enough. He’s def a candidate to move if the price is right. Also MDC, maybe Komarov but prob not. Isles have too many bottom six LWs and at least one has to go.

To you both, ya looks like Bellows had a good year in Bridgeport this past year, can obviously score at a decent clip so I'd be surprised if he was on the block?

The time of year when every team wants to trade their 15th F and 8th D when they are waiver expendable.

Basically the worst time of year to try and make a trade. Same reason why you're unlikely to even lose a player on waivers at this time of year. Every team has made their moves. Nobody wants your crap. Outside of a team losing 5 real players to 5 month injuries in training camp.

Money is the thing that matters. When you're talking a billion dollar business, and owners who have more money than every NHL fan combined, then who cares about money, but teams don't want to put 1 way contracts in the AHL if they can help it. If you're paying NHL money, you want that guy in the NHL. Less than a dozen, probably significantly less than a dozen, 1 way deals are stashed in the AHL at any given time.

Either Johnson or Bellows play center? Canucks are desperate

No way they trade Clutterbuck, Trotz loves his 4th line. If I had to guess Panik might be the easiest to trade given his caphit is very low although if a team was willing to take Komarov instead the Islanders probably would trade him

Johnston is basically a winger who is a heavy weight when it comes to fighting who can play decent enough to be a 13th forward. He's basically the guy you insert in the roster in games you play against Tom Wilson

Did Dal Colle get waived and clear last year?
