A defence minded, vet coach who demands respect and tells it like it is, is exactly what the Jets need


Pretty much every team without a coach by the end of the playoffs will be inquiring about him, and the Jets absolutely should aggressively be part of that mix

I'm thinking that even if the Jets do reach out Trotz will wait until the playoffs are done to see who else comes a courting and if they bring flowers and chocolates. Unless the Jets offer the moon he can afford to sit back and let teams fight over him.

He put together a great roster. On paper one of our best teams ever. But when forwards don't back check and defensemen aren't held accountable for laziness and playing their position, it doesn't matter who is on the team.

One underrated thing about Trotz that's not being discussed enough is that with ticket sales hitting a bit of a lull due to a combination of waning fan enthusiasm and covid, Trotz in addition to on-ice results might also help sell tickets. Having a "star coach" behind the bench (esp one from MB) might spur ticket sales for TNSE and provide a nice financial push.
