Barzal and NYI 2026 1st for Chicagos’ 4th overall in 2026 and two 1sts in 2027(Chicago has three…their own, Edm, Fla) and Teravainen(with some retension)

Isles decline....not moving our pick along with Barzal in any deal. No interest in Teravainen either. We want young players.

Can't wait for him to be moved for less than expected than every Islanders fan say he's ass. Happened last offseason
Except Dobson is ass… how many points in His playoff career? The guy was once again trash when the lights got bright. He isn’t worth that contract. Too soft and makes far to many mistakes defensively.

Barzal is a great player, there are a few fans that don’t like him because he doesn’t shoot enough, but the vast majority love him, and I certainly am one. Unfortunately I think the time has come to move Barzal. The isles are Schaefers team now and should get guys that will grow with Schaefer. And move on from guys that will be past their prime by the time the isles can really make some runs.

Hage for Barzal makes a lot of sense.

It does not.

Barzal's game is much better suited for a winger than a center. He also has an extremely low faceoffs efficiency rate for a center. Despite what many people here will try to make you believe, he isn't a player who can play center for a winning team. As a winger who can fill in at center, perhaps. He's still a very talented player, but not what Montreal needs. At all.

Does the Wild make sense? I don’t know where they’re at asset wise but they absolutely need a center.

I know Kaprizovs deal is huge, on in the flip side their others stars signed dirt cheap contract that largely balances it out, I just don’t know what else they have to give back.
I'm assuming anytime there is a center, or perceived center out there Guerin is looking into it. Hopefully not too much with Barzal. He's more a winger that can play center.
Call Barzal Plan D.

Barzal plays wing because we have 6 Centers playing for us, seems like DeBoer wants to use him at center though from the small sample we had.

you're just wrong except the faceoffs. he's a C who is bad on faceoffs.

even when he played with Horvat, he's the deep forward defensively at least half the time. lambert tried to get him to stick to the point and exit earlier, but it clearly went against all of his instincts. i think it's funny that when pete deboer got here he was like, he's a center.

he's not a good fit for Montreal, that's true.

Yeah, love watching him play but he would not meaningfully move the needle for us, particularly at his salary and considering what we'd need to trade. And I'm generally a huge fan of undersized mega-talented skaters.

Do you mean the guy who had under 40% on the dot this year, and is a career 42% FO man? It's not like he is known for his defensive play, either. Shifty as hell, really good skater, good playmaker, but he should play on the wing, not in the middle.

Could they trade him for Larkin?

What they could do is trade Barzal to Vancouver and Montreal trade Gallagher to Vancouver as well. I think these two would be great temporary faces for the Canucks.

Vancouover does not have anything of interest.
You’re correct but the obsession a small group of people in this fanbase have with EP40 because he played with Horvat is nauseating. That guy is about as much of a waste of money as Palat was this year.
