Honestly, if Some Dude/Horvat/Barzal are going to let McLeod do this, I’m very confident we’re beating the Isles unless Sorokin is God-like.

Unlike McLeod, Meier/Nico/Some Dude are going to score if they go to net like that.

Excited to see the damage that Toffoli will do on a line with Hughes and Bratt. Very encouraging that they’ve developed such good chemistry so quickly.
It looks like we are also tweaking the power play system so that the guy at the top of the Diamond runs a weave in either direction swapping places with the guy on the half wall and potentially handing the puck off as the two guys pass each other. The half wall moving up to the top of the Diamond and the QB moving into the half wall.

Looked almost like a basketball play where the forward and point guard move past each other and can hand the ball off. It’s also a de facto pick if the D tries to follow. The other guys were rotating as well. The islanders PK backed off and looked confused.

It introduced a lot of motion into the power play and stopped things from getting static. It drew the defense out of position.

Great.

Foote’s Utica bound or on the off chance gets claimed

I’d expect some team with a lack of young players will take a shot at him. He’s still a legacy and former first rounder who is still young enough a GM can squint real hard and convince himself he’s a prospect.

So Bratt on the PK was by design and it seems Lindy is planning on using him there?

Me no like.

All it takes is one bad blocked shot....bah.

Hopefully, Jesper leaves the blocked shots to the others.
Nico plays PK, Mcdavid plays PK, Marner plays PK, I get the worry, but Bratt was insanely good at it when he first came into the league and I can only imagine even better now. You don't have to lay down in front of shots on the PK much more than you do than when ES, he will be fine IMO. But the skill he has to be a pest with his stick and the added benefit he brings with being a constant threat offensively is huge. I for one have been wanting him back on the PK for years now and couldn't be more excited for it.

He had a better game than Bastian, I'll give him that.

Nate looked really rusty. Unsurprising.
I actually really liked how Bastian played. Won a lot of battles and extended plays in the ozone.

From the interviews Ruff did too

Thompson is a dark horse to make the team and I wouldn’t mind it if it means no Foote. Thompson and Willman have both been better than Clarke and Foote. Haven’t minded Tierney either.

He's not noticeable from a scoring standpoint but he does a lot of the small things that lends itself to controlling play.

The Tierney line was solid and they only had 2 minutes with Marino/Bahl.

It helps to be playing with Lazar, who’s posted the best numbers of various bottom six forwards (everyone outside of the Hughes, Nico & Haula lines.)
