Jesper Bratt isn't in his final form.
Something, something, Pokémon and catch them all, plus Squirtle, Char-makalit and Kenneth, something, something.

To be honest i expected more from Nosek. I know he's a fourth liner but all i see is him getting outworked.
His shooting has been early last season “Haula-itis” in the few chances he’s had.

That’s it! No more off-season medieval mystical bears acquisitions!

Nico plays PK, Mcdavid plays PK, Marner plays PK, I get the worry, but Bratt was insanely good at it when he first came into the league and I can only imagine even better now. You don't have to lay down in front of shots on the PK much more than you do than when ES, he will be fine IMO. But the skill he has to be a pest with his stick and the added benefit he brings with being a constant threat offensively is huge. I for one have been wanting him back on the PK for years now and couldn't be more excited for it.
I get your point.

But like I said before, I hope he leaves the blocking shots to others and he just tries to steal passes and go the other way.

You guys are nuts.

L. Hughes last season looked great. 100%.

This preseason, Luke has been ragged in the D-Zone . Ok in the O zone, boarder line terrible in the D-Zone. Example: On the Lee Tip, he just coughs it up. In the Rangers game, he was out muscled. Both games he struggles to get pucks out of the D-Zone. Personally, I think he might be hurting still.

Nemec has looked better in the Preseason. Better in O zone, ok on defense.

I think the Shmid bashing is a little weird too. The Devils’ D, struggled. Tips, break-aways, wide open guys in front. Shmid, got the W. Those last two blocks at the end, saved the day.

Miller certainly didn’t help him much either.

Schmid was good in his last game and couldn’t do much or at least wasn’t at fault on most of the goals tonight.

Think Nemec and Luke will both get better once they’re more adjusted and gain some confidence and comfort.

We should keep in mind that Luke’s missed time due to an injury, but I’m not sure why people here are nuts when the consensus is roughly what you say here.

I don’t think anyone doubts Hughes’ offensive upside etc or didn’t see the good things offensively tonight.

Luke can be careless at times and occasionally lacks an attention to details with defense. He needs to work on that. People keep defending him by pointing out the strengths everyone knows he’s has.

With Schmid, People are typically critical when a goalie gives up 5 goals on 20 shots. There were 5 HD Scoring chances and 4 went in. He can expect better defense in the regular season but save on a breakaway would’ve been nice too. Breakaways happen, no team prevents thems at all times.

Saying it wasn’t a great game from him isn’t bashing.

Walking into enemy territory, sorry if I anger you guys. I did travel to the Rock to see this game, and I just want to share what I saw as an Islanders fan from the Devils perspective (Because thats the joy of watching a game on the road in preseason)

I though the Devils looked insanely fast when they have L.Hughes, Misyul, and Bahl on the ice. Bahl in particular looked very good. Luke isn't that good defensively, but he's so scary on the power play. Legitimate threat every time he's got the puck. Nemec also looked kinda good.

Bratt is a monster. He's so good, so fast, and so elusive. The chemistry that he and Hughes has is so scary as an opposing fan. I think Bratt gets a 90+ point season

McLeod is a great bottom 6 player. Ruff absolutely adores this guy. I also took note on how good Bastian was, but he was on this roster no matter what. Nosek is fine. I thought he played fine with forechecking. He should be your 13th forward.

I though Schmid looked very meh. Might want to get that fixed, but its preseason.

Prudential still is a very nice arena. That is all. I just wish coming home from LI was a breeze because its a pain in the ass to come back from.

Pretty much our thoughts (though I disagree on McLeod tonight, thought he and his line had a poor game)

Been wanting to catch a Devils/Isles game in LI but same deal in reverse. Getting there and back from Jersey isn't that easy a hike. The idea of doing it on a weeknight sounds like pure hell, more power to you for making the trip out here.

I'm actually closer to Brooklyn so its not that bad. Its going into LI that sucks.

McLeod looked okay but I still think his presence is seen whenever he plays. He's one of my favorite non-islanders in the Metro to watch, which is tough for me to say.

As a Devils fan who lives in Brooklyn, it's one of the biggest pains to leave a good like, 2 hours or sometimes 2 hours and a half before games just to get NJ either by public transport or car but I guess I'm not complaining anymore since the team is relevant but when they were bad, man did those trips suck to the highest degree coming back home from.

He is really good for the role he is asked. He only tends to get exposed when asked to play above that role.

Working to become a really good PKer and master face off specialist was a smart career move for him. That and adding some snarl to his game.

Line just had a rough night. Nosek is still clearly learning the system and getting adjusted which didn't help.

Goalies on both sides tbh got left out to dry, it was basically a glorified scrimmage tonight. Kinda makes sense the high flyers/elite skaters stood out in the game with Barzal picking up 2 goals and Bratt with a hat trick. Engvall's goal was soft from Schmid too but all speed on that goal again.
