I'm confused as to why everyone else on the team had to have made the right play for Nemac to have made a mistake. I'm not defending anyone else by saying Nemac should have fell back. This isn't a debate to find out who should sit. Nemac is the rookie in a preseason game, it's ok to look closer at him, it's expected.
There was zero time to fall back man.

Would you make Lazar your 13th forward? Perhaps Nolan Foote?

I like Lazar as a 13th forward. Seems like the ideal guy who can sit for games at a time but be inserted at a moments notice and not hurt the team. Foote still needs to be consistently playing games whether it’s up in the NHL or AHL.

What choice are you talking about? The only one maybe is trying to glove it instead
Give up on stopping it at all, the time spent squaring up and swatting on it and realizing you missed it, could have all been spent retreating. It would have been the safe play.

Listen, it's not that big of a deal, it's a insanely small and dumb mistake that had big results. It's not something I expect to see day to day from him nor saying he shouldn't be in the NHL. It's a mistake, not a big deal. Jack didn't need to pass that, Schmid could have stopped it, but it's our first good look at Nemac, it's ok to dissect....

There was no time whatsoever. He didn’t even square up to it. I don’t know what you’re not understanding about how quick that happened. The only thing that would have stopped that on his part is blocking that puck.
