Is Vladimir Tarasenko cooked?

Only 6 goals in 48 games this season with the Wings... his production has been trending down for three years now, despite the fact that he only just turned 33.

Is a retirement tour in the KHL his next stop or can he somehow salvage his NHL career?

He was legit good for Ottawa last year. Keep in mind he had a long year with the trade to Florida and the cup run.

Now that he's playing for Detroit, odds are he has a longer offseason to recover and give one more quality year as a middle six forward before his contract is up. If so, he lands another one year deal and heads to Russia in fall '27.

4.75 for one more year. Doubt he has much trade value. Seems relatively young to fall off like this.

I don’t know if he’s actually cooked play wise but he certainly doesn’t care. Got paid 5 million and is just mailing it in. He’s terrible every where else even outside of scoring, guy just doesn’t try very much.

He had 50pts in 69 games and 55 in 76 in the previous two regular seasons. He has 20 in 48 this season on a lousy team (all due respect Wings fans). I’m not ready to write his NHL obituary.

He is a very big part of why the team has been lousy. He along with Kane and Compher (who were our 2nd line for a good while) have some of the lowest possession metrics in the league.

Not a chance. He’s terrible. He creates no offense himself and his shot is no longer anything to fear. He provides nothing else. He’s not even noticeable on the PP, unless he’s f***ing things up. He’s cooked.

He’s lucky to have 20 points. He’s a passenger on every line he’s on. He’s either invisible or a standout for the wrong reasons. Like Norris said, he’s a huge reason WHY the Wings had a lousy first 35 games. He was signed with the expectation of being an average second liner and he can barely hack it on the 3rd line. His demise can’t be overstated. He and Compher have been abysmal.

Didnt he have some major lower body injuries for the blues

Remember him missing most of a season once time and then a few other years where he got hurt often

Taylor hall also from 2010 is a shell of his former self and hes only 33 (has fallen off for 3+ years now) due to major career injuries hes sustained.

2010 draft class has a lot of great players whose careers were impacted by injuries

Hall, Seguin, RyJo, Tank, Kuznetsov etc

You make a good point. I guess I just thought him (and Hall) would peak longer. Actually all of them that yo mentioned I was thinking very good till 35.
