Doris Burke is amazing though if you ever watch the NBA.

Doris Burke is basically the female Marv Albert.

Unlike Campbell, you can listen to Doris for 5 minutes and already know she's a professional at what she does.

Mike Milbury is the worst, now that NBC decided that there was nothing hockey fans needed more than to receive his braindead bullshit during the game rather than just in the intermissions.

I sympathize with any female announcer simply because many can find a higher pitched voice off-putting simply because that's not the norm. And that kind of puts the commentary front and centre, making mistakes even more noticeable.

Reminds me of the time the Kings tried out Cammi Granato as a color commentator.

Poor Nick Nickson did his very best to cover for her.

Nick: "An excellent shift there by the Kings, what did you see Cammi?"

Nick: "Ah, looks, like the puck is dropping again, back to the action we go..."

I don't think I've ever heard her do a game, but her husband is one of the best in the business.

She obviously knows her stuff, too, cause she's now a scout for the Seattle NHL franchise.

Did anyone catch what she said about why Gustafsson was traded and such? I thought I heard her say something about how he got played less on the powerplay throughout the season because they were worried about how much he'd demand on his contract and they wanted more young players playing. If this is true this is terrible player management since they were sellers. Hawks fans is this true or not?

Speaking of talking over play, at least you manage to avoid Garry Galley, the colour commentator who never shuts the f*ck up.

At least Galley sounds like he understands the game. He'll add tidbits now and then about what X player should have done, or why X player made a smart play defensively. Millen doesn't seem to do that stuff. He'll just constantly reference highlight reel plays from earlier in the game and salivate over his favorite players.

Yeah. He's almost as bad as Kelly Hrudey crying for calls all the time.

It's much harder to find a good colour commentator in the NHL than it is to point out a bad one.

I personally dont like her. I dont feel like she offers much insight, is generally annoying and honestly I just think some of her takes are wrong. Thing I probably dislike most about her is that she is incredibly biased. If she was doing regional broadcasts, that would be one thing. She just shouldnt be commentating it on national scale imo.

Him, Olczyk, Doc - Can't stand them together or apart. IMO, those three + Drew Remenda are my top annoyances. Cassie is not my favorite either, but nowhere as bad as the ones I listed above. If Steigy was still calling Pens games he'd be up there as well.
