Every game she announces it is mistake after mistake and fumbling over simple sentences. I know she did alot for womens hockey but enough is enough, she is painful to listen to.

I honestly don't know a single person who can stand listening to her so why is she still on?

I have no issue with her at all and don't find her to be more mistaken prone than any other announcer.

She's brutal. I'm guessing they are having her on to try and get a larger female audience. There are many commentators who are more knowledgable.

There are *many* commentators who are more knowledgeable than an 8-time gold medal winning player who's on the selection committee for the Hockey Hall of Fame?

You can criticize her as a broadcaster, her phrasing, her tone, but criticizing her knowledge of the game is ridiculous.

Her husband is the Flames assistant GM. Don’t worry, there’s no conflict of interest there.

Conflict of interest? You think the play by play person saying it is no goal will lead to it being overturned?

She's calling the game from the booth, not refereeing it. There's no conflict of interest.

I don't care for her on commentary but don't mind her on the panel at all.

Yeah, pretty much this. She will likely get better though.

She’s been doing this quite awhile. So “the room to get better” should of come already. I do agree with the guy who wrote above criticizing her knowledge of the game is ridiculous, I can’t speak for that guy but I’m fully aware of her accomplishments. Wayne Gretzky was the greatest hockey player ever but that didn’t mean he was a great coach. So that being said some things just don’t translate as there’s an art form to commentary it isn’t just speaking. It’s reaction time, pacing, presentation. Etc

Infact she’s been a reporter on tv over a decade and been doing colour commentary for half a decade. Started On HNIC but now Sportsnet I think mostly flames broadcasts likely due to the whole husband issue. Plus what easier way to get on as a colour commentator especially in the diverse age we live in now.

Not sure, she is in what her second year? Not much difference from when she started.

refer to my post right above this text for length of time. And that’s why I agree with you.

I find her really insightful if monotonous. She could coach men's hockey.

Is there a worse announcer? Yeah, Kevin Weekes. I swear he just makes stuff up. I have no idea what game he's watching when he does color, but its never the one on front of him.
You find her insightful? Most of the time she sounds confused and lost with the play going on.

Haven't heard her, but I've heard my share of bad sports announcers over the years. Bill Wallace at the first UFC. Just watched it. Oof. He did only one show for a reason.

I find that hockey announcers tend to be very partial to the home team, but most of them are somewhat competent at what they do.

She's improved a lot over the last two years. She does seem to trip over her tongue a bit but I still remember Charlie Simmer. Compared to him, she's amazing.

She's definitely not great but I take her 10 times out of 10 over Calley or York, for sure

There are great coaches who didn't play long or at all, and there are amazing players who make horrible coaches and GMs. That means little to game analysis *and its delivery, and much of what it does mean can be learned from conversations with players over a period of years simply asking them.

You want to know the game, you just have to pay attention to it.
