Gotta ask about this Sean Walker guy. He's on a bit of a heater lately. Is he thriving under a coach who sees something in him nobody else did?

He’s playing over 21 minutes here right now, his previous highs were around 18 minutes a night, last year he was under 15 minutes a night.

He did have some things there to plausibly his hang his hat on that could potentially improve with more of a defined/increased role. Granted it still is a small sample so I wouldn’t go completely in even if I think he can still be relatively useful even with regression.

@JojoTheWhale and I had a conv about him earlier. Check out his updated sG card, as I said, something is up with that model. It’s not projecting consistently… He is also performing well in EH gar/xGAR and RAPM models. He was good in transition last year, and seems to be doing well so far this year in that regard.

In terms of credit to Torts or the player, it’s probably correct to give Torts some credit. It’s not like Walker all of a sudden learned new skills but he’s been given a platform to expand, and so far he’s done it. Whether he comes back to earth or he’s this new player remains to be seen.

I’d give credit to Shaw. He runs the defense. Aside from TDA and Sanheim for most of last year, all of the Flyers defensemen have played better than they had before he took over there.

I do wonder if Ristolainen &/or Staal was available more this year so far if that pathway to #3D would have been as easily there for the taking. Credit where it’s due Walker has certainly taken advantage of the situation & ran with it.

This guy in my town, is married to a lady from Elkhorn, they go back home every summer. She knows Travis very well. He’s a really nice, small town guy. She’s gonna get me his autograph this summer. He should be on the all star roster. He would be a key player in Olympic and any other chance to play for Canada.
‘they told me, he worked out insanely last summer. He is way bigger than his twin brother.
when we get our. Top prospects Gauthier and Michkov, some polish, he is our #1 d, he wouldn’t be on most teams, we have good quality depth finall. Dumping Provy was a necessity
