Is Ottawa good?

Nor is it realistic to expect Stutzle to produce at a 55 point pace. It’s a slump, and the team is still finding ways to win games despite offensive struggles, you are doing some mental gymnastics. If your top players aren’t going offensively and you are still winning games, that’s not a bad sign.
It’s like a team doing well without their starting goalie, or having their defensive group decimated by injuries or not having your centre core healthy for the vast majority of the season… Team’s need to find a way to win when they are not getting bailed out and not running on all cylinders, Ottawa is staying afloat right now doing that.

Ottawa would be over the moon with the past ten game record if let’s say Stützle was injured. I’m sure they are also over the moon that they can win without their 1-2 offensive punches playing well.

Imagine if Edmonton started consistently winning 1-0 hockey games while McDrai went cold while being able to still win 6-3 hockey games… that team would be scary. Not comparing Stu and Chucky to McDrai but you get the point.

Another game allowing 1 goal or less. They’re definitely perfecting the defensive side of the game. A breath of fresh air compared to the previous couple of years.

Not going to celebrate stringing a couple of wins together too hard, just as I won’t get too down after losing a couple.

6-0 over the course over three back to back weekends is something I will get excited about however, 12 points is great but those are hard earned twelve points. One bad weekend could have caved this group.

Agree completely but it is very reassuring to see that we can win games when we aren't scoring, top players slumping and our top goalie is out. Not bad at all.

Few of those tire fires in our end like last few years when things went bad.

Also a great sign that the typical trolls from other teams are trolling yet again. Always a sure sign of weakness and fear.

I know we can’t gamble any points away at this point in the season, but I think it might pay dividends for Stützle to sit a few PP1 shifts.

Feels like every power play there’s a Stützle failed zone entry or a Stützle turn over at the blue line that is totally unnecessary.

I get not wanting to stifle the kid, but his puck management has been abysmal on the power play.

If y'all get in the playoffs, anything can happen.

The most mid team in the NHL who are "officially done rebuilding".
Rangers will bump them out of a WC spot.
The only guy who claimed the Sens are done rebuilding was an inept GM that is essentially blackballed from the league due to said ineptitude. Stop extrapolating that to fit this made-up narrative that every Sens fan was touting the same thing.

99.9999% of the time those types of posts are rooted in pure jealousy. I don't even have to look up the allegiance of the poster you quoted to know he's probably a fan of a middling team that he thought was better than it was and they're in direct competition with the Sens.

Like Bruce Dickinson famously said, you stick with us we'll be wearing gold-plated diapers.
We're already in ATL3 (albeit with 4 days off...) so I'm fairly sure we're in. And once we're in we've got it all baby: goalies that goal, agitators that agitate, coach that's a potato with basic strats, a GM that's on perma-vacation. Don't sleep on us.

Bingo. A petulant Wings fan that is gonna discount any of the Sens achievements from here on out. Sens could win it all and he'd somehow have an excuse about it. Trolls die hard.

Truthful outside perspective not welcome on the main board by anyone who sees YOUR TEAM for what they truly are, heh?

Also note: I did not start this thread, just answering it honestly.

- If disagree with my "mid" statement, go check the standings.

- If you disagree with "rebuild officially over" statement, go look up the GMs actual (well documented) quote, then point to any statement your new GM clarifies it. News flash; he doesn't!

Calling any poster a troll because you disagree with truthful and well documented facts they point out is a poor coping mechanism.

Stutzle picked up two assists in the win over the Utah not-coyotes today , one of them on a Tkachuk goal, so maybe he is coming out of it. But it seems like Ottawa is one of about six teams trying to squeeze into three playoff spots. I think they will make it..and I am not betting anything on it one way or another.

Seemed like a lot of people came disguised as empty seats since attendance was announced at 16,897

Five pm game on a Sunday with football playoffs on

Not sure why people are bothering to reply to that dotter person, it's plainly obvious that they're trying to get a rise out of posters.

Most do, yes.

Most is quite a stretch, I don't know if I'd even say that most Canadian sports fans care about the NFL, let alone the entire country's population.
