Is Ottawa good?

Yeah Ottawa wasn’t in the playoffs for easy first round wins.

3 of the Leafs last 4 first round victories are against the Ottawa Senators. Maybe they just need a warmup round against a weak team.
So Ottawa is your crutch? What a sad state of affairs. Even then you guys always bowed out the very next round.

They're the only team in the running with a positive goal differential, and they're ever so slightly ahead of the pack in terms of points percentage. Unfortunately, the teams around them are all heating up at the same time. Detroit, Columbus, even Montreal, have all been pretty solid in their past ten games.

I bet they get a wildcard spot this year, but it's usually when the games get important that the Senators seem to lose steam. Couple important dates on the calendar this month with two games against Boston, one against the Rangers.

This season seems so important for their captain requesting a trade

They better get that wildcard spot or watch out

I’ll bet their GM in nervous about that prospect regardless of him being under contract or not.

They just lost to Sabres at home and got boo'd by their own fans. Lol.

No problem. I just thought it was interesting when you mentioned they have an easy schedule after they just got shutout on home ice to........... Buffalo.

It doesn't sound so easy for them though. It sounds like it's going to be hard down the stretch for them since they get shutout on home ice against..... Buffalo.

But yeah, I see your point. Probably 'easy' for other teams.

There are only three teams in the league worse than Buffalo.

I imagine it’s even worse losing to one of them at home.

Red Wings were literally one of the worst teams in the league a few weeks ago. They were on pace to draft top #5 overall and are currently still in the thick of rebuild.... with a majority of their young upcoming star prospects still developing.

Ottawa's rebuild officially ended September of 2021 and they are ignorantly trading futures to 'win now'.

I don't think your 'diss' is what you think it is.

It's sad Wings are ahead in their rebuild over Senators who have a smorgasbord of meh players who can't get over the hump - with no clear vision on how to win. Your Sens team is what it is! DRWs, on the other hand, have upcoming star prospects yet to enter the the NHL on their way up.

What's funny is that with all of your hysteria about Ottawa's loss to Buffalo, you're really dissing yourself.

Hey cheer up, I have faith you guys can claw your way back to a high pick

Staios hasn't really done that.

Mental midgets the bunch of them.

Mental midgets the bunch of them.

Yeah, I'm unfortunately familiar with the condition.

The hope is always that when they do finally take that next step, the monkey will be off their back and old bad habits will be put to rest. Florida soundly disabused us of that notion last year.

Its impressive how you can be consistently wrong on literally everything that you say. Literally everything you say is off base.

Exhibit #283838594 this post. Thinking this is a diss on the sens, yet it really paints you and you're precious leafs, as the losers that you are.

Sens have much more success as a team then the leafs in modern times. Which is absolutely crazy when you look at the horrible management the sens had and non playoff years we've had to endure. Yet despite this, our team still has more playoff series wins then your leafs team in its Matthews era.

Ottawa is gonna be going further then the leafs in the playoffs this year.

Anyone that wants to bet me on this. Let's go. I'll bet upto $100 to anyone. I'll do a max of ten people/$1000

It is not the same franchise

That doesn't matter at all. The fans of that city care whether the city won a championship...whoever owns the team or what corporation is in charge is irrelevant.

If Quebec got a hockey team and won a championship, they wouldn't care that it's not the organization that moved to Colorado.

They would still enjoy the parade just as much.

They would remember the city winning championship.. they wouldn't care who owned the organization.

You are proud of those cups from the 1920s and 1930s eh. Really impacted your fandom.

Lol no different than any other fan mentioning championships when they weren't around.

Maybe we should just count championships after you're 18 when you can be drinking and partying and enjoying the celebration.

Yeah and I would apply the same attitude. One difference would be though getting to hear stories from your Grandparents or Parents stories about cups they witnessed and cheered for that would be exciting and make you a fan which you aren’t getting from any Ottawa Senators cups.

Huh? My grandpas brother actually played for the Ottawa Senators for a few games. When I was a kid, he talked about his hockey days. When I was a teenager, he had Alzheimer's...he died probably 15-20 years ago in his late 90s.

They're in the thick of it, it all comes down to health now. The two teams with the least injuries among the 8 (?) contenders for the two wildcard spots should make the playoffs this season, it's gonna be close though...

In the last 20ish games, they're 9th league wide in P%. They just have to keep the momentum. When I watch them, the Sens always appear like a very emotional team; high highs and low lows. That energy can lead to keeping up with the best but sometimes also lacking in discipline

Enjoy celebrating your cups then. They would have meaning to you.
