That's how I feel about it. Cups from the 20s have about as much meaning as cups won in the 60s before expansion. And cups from before we were born have little to do with us in general.
Celebrate history all you want. But none of it matters much to me. I just want to enjoy that pretend feeling of accomplishment I may have when the team I've chosen to cheer for wins. It's fun. It means very little aside from what meaning we choose to attach to it.
I'm just happy my chosen team currently sucks less than it has for the past 7 years!
Exactly. No one ultimately cares about championships they werent around for.
Everyone talks about how great it is for your favourite team to win a cup when you were personally fully invested. THAT'S what truly matters.
So for me, i turned 18 in 2007. My buddy who's a die hard wings fan got to enjoy a cup in 08 (he's a year older so at 20) That's pretty cool! Jealous! My buddies at work at. Chicago and Tampa fans. They got multiple cup wins! That's pretty cool.
I'm kinda jealous.
I'm not jealous of some 30 year old Montreal fan who brags about 24 cups. He didn't enjoy those so what's to brag about?
