Sort of feels like they lack an identity, where they're not abjectly terrible in any one particular area, but do not stand out in a good way either.
Are they a high flying offensive team that relies on possession? A smothering defensive team? A gritty forechecking team? Do they burn you with speed on the rush, or wear you down on the cycle? What do they want to be, and more importantly, do they have the personnel to be it?
Tough spot to be in. Goaltending always seems to be their achilles heel, but they make changes in that area and see no improvement. Still not impossible to turn it around I suppose, but yeah, the climb gets more challenging by the day.
Gotta start rebuilding the rebuild. The new Buffalo sabres everyone.
Brady is going to want out, especially after watching his brother have so much success. It's gotta sting for him.
Ullmark 6-0-1 in his last 7.
Brady hasn't done shit to try and separate himself from this mess. He is the captain for god sakes and hasn't performed when they needed him
That would be your worst nightmare,Whats fun is if the season ended right now, Leafs vs Sens round 1
That would be your worst nightmare,
lol, over 2 decades ago,Why? Leafs record against the Sens is not worrying in the playoffs.

you obviously haven’t watched this team at all this year Weird you‘d even want to give such an out of touch take because if you watched them for 1 game you’d know their identity.
They have a lot of talent with multiple puck moving dmen. They should be a strong offensive puck possession team. Just need a bit more jam in the lineup and a new coach. Not sure what they were thinking with Travis Green. He was awful in Vancouver and they improved tremendously as soon as he was axed.Sort of feels like they lack an identity, where they're not abjectly terrible in any one particular area, but do not stand out in a good way either.

The underlying numbers say the exact opposite.Nope, just overperforming
Ah ok their advanced stats are pretty good actually. Maybe it's the year they take the next step, WC1 and 2 are ripe for the taking.15th in Goals for per game
11th in Goals against per game
6th in PP %
5th in Shots for per game
9th in shot against per game
Honestly it’s not been Green’s fault at all. The team has been noticeably better than under Smith or Martin.
The PK has not been good (23rd) and the strategy they use has been bad, thanks to Baumgartner, but otherwise the team is playing fine.
Some players had rough starts. Pinto, Giroux, Greig, Sanderson, Amadio. Zub has missed a lot of games. Ullmark started the year really poorly but is back at .910 save %.
Since the top 3 lines have been rolling they’ve been much better. Once Zub and Perron return and if Ullmark can keep playing good hockey they’ll be in good shape.
Green has them playing a good game. They need some small tweaks but getting there.
