Since you're so sure and have declared yourself correct, it should be pretty easy to come up with one example of concrete evidence that Lowe or MacT had direct influence on a hockey move that happened under Chia.

Let's see what you've got.
If it walks like a duck...

I don't think Gretzky really works with the team all that much, its more of.a figurehead position and while he might chime in, he probably prefers staying in LA and doing all the charity/speaking/commercial gigs he does.

I think its ridiculous to lean either way on this issue with certainty considering there's no evidence either for or against. But I do look forward to the tell-all article years from now that gets to the very blatantly obvious nepotism that has plagued the organization since at least the late 1990s.

The fact that the same faces have managed to cling to this organization despite one of professional sports' worst consecutive stretches of failure is all you need to know that something's up behind closed doors.

Imagine Chia didn't trade anyone:

RNH - McDavid - Chiasson
Hall - Draisaitl - Eberle
Khaira - Barzal - Puljujaarvi
Kassian - Brodziak - Yamamoto

Klefbom - Petry
Sekera - Schultz
Nurse - Russel
Jones

Not a bad lineuo

That OP is ridiculous. Lowe always did well with what he had to work with. I wish he was still GM.

Chiarelli gave Koskinen a NMC after being out of the NHL for like 8 years. Lowe wouldn't give Pronger a NTC when he as in his prime.

So don't say these moves look like something Lowe would do. It's the exact opposite.

This is what I've always figured. Something is wrong beyond the coaches and the GM. Every coach is the worst, every GM is the worst, repeat repeat repeat. No other team in the salary cap era has had these kind of woes unless there've been financial restrictions involved. The fish rots from the head.

Firing Lowe, who has f*** all to do with the Oilers on a hockey personnel level nowadays, is more akin to firing that usher in 118.

It’ll do nothing.

Not going to go through this with you for the hundreth time. You can look it up again. There were even journal articles this year.

Your reality:

Chia woke up one day and knowing nothing about Reinhart at all suddenly declared that he was going to trade for him! That he knew absolutely nothing about him meant nothing. The name had magically popped in to his head during a dream! Or perhaps in a public washroom!

No matter, this player whom MacT and Lowe watched and gushed about during his time with the Oil Kings didn't say nary a word. They didn't mention him to Chia. It certainly didn't come from them! It was a Chia dream!

Don't blame them as they scurry from the spotlight!

Speculation based on speculation.

That's some ironclad evidence right there.

Lowe isn't running the oilers. This is just an excuse Oilers fans have made up to make themselves feel better about Chiarelli's awful moves.

Lucic
Ryan Spooner
Colby cave

For example are all Bruins players chairelli knew. Kevin Lowe didn't say go trade for Ryan Spooner.

Kevin Lowe liked mobile dmen that could pass. For example

Pitkanen
Visnovsky
Pronger
Souray

Chaurelli chased guys like manning and Russell that block shots.

Lowe would be an improvement.

Though it should be concerning for the Oilers that whenever they do one of their "all hands on deck" meetings about how bad the team is names like Lowe and MacTavish somehow still seem to pop up.

I think he, along with the rest of the old boys club, have an influence on decisions. How large that influence is is really tough to say, probably akin to pro scouts who will run to daddy Katz if they feel they aren't being listened to. I think Lowe, along with the rest of the old boys club, should be fired. At the very best the optics look bad. Even if we fire Chia, no one remotely competent is going to take a job with the team and risk sewering the careers potentially living at the whim of the old boys.

12 years of shit and they are the consistent factor. Maybe its time to flush the toilet.

Why would Chiarelli even wnt to be Kevin Lowe's puppet? Why would he willingly tarnish his own reputation for a meagre 3M/yr? He still has at least 20 years left for a management career which can see total earnings that far eclipse his Oilers contract.

It's funny how because Lowe used to be the president of hockey operations, people assumed he controlled the GM.

Now Chiarelli is the president of hockey ops and now the title doesn't mean a whole lot.
