Is Keefe the right coach for this team at this time.

He's better than Reimer or Bernier. I like Freddy, but wouldn't re-sign him unless it's cheap and the only good option.

95% of teams want to upgrade their less than perfect goalie. There's no way to do that besides getting lucky with a cast-off, or some stud rookie comes in and fools everyone for a season.

Goalies are voodoo

I'll try to dig it up again, but I know among core players injuries they were top 5.

Here you go

Having guys like Rielly and Muzzin out at the same time is killer.

Killer is having a d of Shultz, Cole, Hainsey, Maatta, Dumoulion and Daley, with a 34 year old Hainsey getting the 2nd most TOI of the d-men during a Stanley Cup winning year. Letang didn't play a single second during those playoffs.

TO might not have the best d in hockey but d isn't the only issue, that the goaltending and forwards weren't able to contribute more, support the d more was the issue.

Teams don't need all-star d to win.

Yep, the fact that it’s even debated just re enforces how disappointing a year it was.
I understand if the Leafs actually beat BJs and lost to TB. The argument would be did the Leafs win a playoff round. Which would be an interesting debate as the pro Dubas camp will come out and state Dubas did something no Leafs GM had done since Quinn...while the anti Dubas and our resident Leafs trolls would come here and state playins is not playoffs....

Team dont need all star but they need player able to play defensive side of the puck.

-Dumoulin is one of the best shutdown D of NHL
-Hainsey was a very good shutdown D
-Cole is a very good shutdown D.
- Daley was a good all around
4 of 6 was good defensivly
1 of 6 was awful defensivly
Yes this pittsburgh d wasn't elite but every body except schultz was pretty good defensive side...

Muzzin excellent shutdown D
Holl very good shutdownd
Rielly was good
Dermott/ceci okay
Barrie, l marincin was awfull
Sandin was an offensive rookie dman and was awfull ( not ready for that kind of role)

2 of 8 was very good defensivly (one of them injured) 2/8 was okay, 3/8 was awfull ... so YES pittsburgh D was better defensivly and it not even close
