0 chance I would take him over Ekblad.

Also its pretty easy to argue that Rielly & Seider are better. The latter I suppose you can go either way, mind you he's in a bit of a sophomore slump this year.

Let Chychrun play with Ottawa, he's being vastly overrated here.

I heard the same thing with OEL and he was absolute trash when he had to play on an NHL team.

Chychrun looked good on the junior Coyotes, now let's see when his team is expected to win games.

Why do people keep bringing up OEL? The guy was already nosediving for a couple years before getting traded. It was a trade of cap dumps.

which is fine with him in ottawa. Chabot is the minutes muncher there. let him build chemistry with sanderson and that top 4 is set

The return for OEL was higher than Chychrun.

If that was a cap dump, so is Chychrun.

AZ took on $12m+ in odorous cap dumps, retained, and stapled Garland on for good measure to get a top 10 pick.

Now those dumps are cleared out, OEL is Vancouver's problem, and the Coyotes have Dylan Guenther.

No. Ppl are seriously over rating the guy. Like serious over rating. Button said he's better than Ekholm and that's just completely bull crap. He's gonna be exposed in the quicker east

A number 1? Nope. 2? Nope. I think chychrun needs to be healthy and he hasn't been. I think ppl want him to be something he's not tho

For the first time Chychrun will be playing with a growing and adequate supporting cast around him. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him solidify himself as a bonafide top pairing defenceman, if some don’t already consider him that.

Rielly isn't even the best Dman on the Leafs right now. He has been average at best this year.

No chance he is top 32 in the league. Not even close. I would put him closer to 60th which is still a top pairing but a low, low, low end one.
 
I'd call him a "Top-3D". He could either anchor a really good 2nd pairing, or comfortably play up on the top pairing with another comparable caliber player or better.


That is...when he's healthy at least.
 
Top pairing for sure. Not a true #1 but no doubt top pair.
