FWIW, from today's PGT thread:
As noted repeatedly elsewhere, there is not a single player on this roster I would not trade. Especially the big ticket, big names.
There are players I would prefer to keep, of course.
And I am not simply addressing the team's present woes.
Failure to qualify for the post season and reap the expected first round gate, now a very real possibility, may finally sink the SS SweeNeely.
Alternately, first steps toward a radical remake of the varsity and the direction of the Boston Bruins, heretofore an empty exercise in fruitless wheel spinning, would suffice.
As Elliotte Friedman correctly observes, the latter scenario is unlikely, as drastic measures are "not in the DNA" of cautious, careful Professor Sweeney.
Shall detail later, but for the moment it is enough to say that given all that has occurred in nearly a decade at the helm, particularly this season, we may shortly bear witness to the end of an ultimately unsatisfying era.
"Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished," at least for this Bruins fan.
Come summer, 2025, Charlie Jacobs may have to make the hardest choice of his professional life.
If so, I hope he makes the right one.
