Still wild to me that this became a thing. Maybe it was letting off the gas after the contract but In Columbus he was fantastic is the playoffs

Panarin and Marner . Regular season stars.
Play offs not so much. Should be on 3rd line limited roles.

No, he's a very good player. People are ignoring how good his linemates were this postseason. He had a stinker of a game 6/series before the goal really late last night but I'd easily take him on my team.

He’s not overrated. Hes talented as hell. He just sucks in the playoffs and disappears when it matters most. Since joining NYR he has 12 goals in 46 playoff games. That’s barely a 20 goal pace over a season.
And up until this year hes been a 25-30 goal per season player, so thats not really far off par for him

Well said. There is a noticeable disparity in talent and results at 5v5 in the playoffs.

Did u know Panarin had more ES points than any Florida Panther this year? Did you know that if you took away all Panarin's pp points this year he still finishes top 35 in points?
Did you know that none of that counts in the postseason, which is what you were responding to?

But for a superstar in the playoffs that’s not good enough. Can’t go 9 straight playoff games without a goal and expect your team to have much of a chance when you’re one of the main guys they lean on.

Fair enough. So regular season he gets approx 33% of points on pp. Playoffs he gets.....33% of points on pp. Clearly a pp specialist.
