Other Canadian teams advancing through the playoffs like Edmonton and Calgary actually reflect back on Toronto's failure and struggles among Canadian teams.

I can't imagine many Leaf fans jumped on the Montreal "Go Canada" wagon last year either, after they went all the way to the Cup finals.

Toronto as a flagship NHL and Canadian team in the biggest market and richest franchise should be its most successful, so when I see other Canadian teams winning playoff series it doesn't get me to jump ship, but to rather ask "Why is it not Toronto ?".

If Edmonton played Tampa Bay in round 1... then they're not still playing. It's fairly easy to win a round if you happen to draw LA.

No. This forum (that is, the main boards) have completely ruined my ability to root for any other Canadian hockey club. The only exception might by Calgary, as their fans seem a little less noisy and there aren't a lot of local Flames fans in my neck of the woods.

I will drop by your place and let you know if Cup is coming to my place for an hour (you are invited) as I walk by many nights of week .. Nicky lives in Estero FL now so I doubt he will bring Cup back to LP/his hockey buddies but you never know (Elwood/Melinda sold/moved from Boulder Creek Crt last year) .. Rich/Judi still live here in LP and I am sure Ryan would bring it over to his buddies but they are a little younger .. Chris/Trish and Ryan now also live here in LP too .. they would both need a big backyard to handle all their LP and hockey friends .. it could be a BIG bash for a short time .. but we will see .. best chance with Rangers winning i think if i was betting

I thought about it and decided I want McDavid to win a cup...that way he can walk away in a few years as a UFA and come home not owing anything to Edmonton and can fulfill a childhood dream. I also think the world is flat...

not really. when he re-signed, he did for 8 years. He could have just re-signed for 5 years like Tavares did and bolted. The fact that he signed for 8 years tells me that he likes it there. For now.
