3 pages on a fantastic road win. Wow!

What a pick up in Gustafsson. This guy can play. He is getting more icetime on the PP than Trouba or Miller and it is paying off.

He once scored 60 pts in a season with 17 goals. And last year he had 42 points in Washington. What a great pickup by Drury.

With Lindgren constantly getting banged up, this guy could easily fill in alongside Fox.

Gutsy effort by Shesty after letting in an early goal off a poor effort last out.

Chytil is on fire. His confidence is at an all time high. He is competing with Zibad as our best center.

It’s a real comment on the salary cap situation. Dude shouldn’t be playing for the minimum.

He's been very well behaved on that front recently.

And I saw Krav being trained by Daniel Bernhardt at the Auntie Anne's in Penn Station the other day.
This is a betrayal to Daniel Bernhardt lol

Lmao I'm dying though just picturing it

Solid game, no complaints.

I like the guy and want to defend him but Wheeler looks cooked. He was a liability last night. If we're looking for veteran secondary scoring, I'd much rather have Kane, who can actually keep up with the play. I think Wheeler isnt on the chopping block yet, but the possibility of Kane and Othmann pushing for a roster spot, he's on borrowed time if he doesnt stop looking like Leonard Fournette on the ice.

Kane isn’t skating better than wheeler as of last year.

I'd be willing to make the swap if the salaries were equal. As underwhelming as Kane was last year he still put up 12 points in 19 games. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that he's healed. I am also completely fine with riding it out until December/January when they decide Othmann has had enough time to cook in the AHL. I think he's a taylor-made fit for that line.

Wheeler just looks a few steps slow. And it's more pronounced with how Cuylle and Trocheck have looked so good together. Second Trocheck penalty was almost completely due to Wheeler getting spun like a top in the Rangers zone.

Panarin's first period was hilarious.

I think every single pass he attempted in the OZ not only made it through but ended up resulting in a prime scoring chance. He air mailed a pretty good pass from Laf and completely beefed an easy 5 ft pass to Chytil that would have sprung a 2 on 1 (I chuckled as this happened, as it was after 3-4 really high grade and difficult passes that he had completed on previous shifts) but the fact that he walked out of the 1st with out a point was ridiculous.

Quiet game after that but the penalties started piling up and for what ever reason Lavi wanted to play line 4 in the 3rd (and they got wayyyy to much ice) instead of his line.

I absolutely LOVED that Lav put out the 2nd unit 1st on that second PP.

I think Gallant did that once his entire tenure here (for like 35 seconds) and it took Lav all of 6 games to show the top unit what needs to be done. A pass or two and get it on.

And then what happened?

Instantly a Mika one timer from the point and then a simple play to the net from Panarin finding Kreider for the goal. Get it there. Its almost too easy for CK. They need to reminded of this and sending out the first unit is the best way to wake them up. It also shows confidence in the kids.

I mentioned it earlier, having Gust on that second unit makes it a lot easier for him to pull the trigger with that, because Lav trusts him and he knows what he can do on the PP.

Even at the end of the game up 3-1 he puts out Gust, Fox, Kakko, Mika and Kreids. Gallant wouldve lazily thrown out the PP1 again or maybe Lindgren and Fox with the rest of the normal PP1 group.

So nice to see purpose in the decision making.

Overall this wasnt a perfect game, but it shows that this team can right the ship with this system and thats important.

Sloppy play the first 13 or 14 minutes and then the next 26 was great. The third Calgary really pushed and while they didnt give them much, Shesty was a big reason it didnt become a 1 goal game or even tied.

Man did he have some spectacular saves.

The College Interns must have just made it in. Better late than never:

When/If they put up the Laviolette interview I’ll edit it into this post.

Looking forward to seeing 40-year-old Laviolette.

I think for the most part, their defensive coverage and net front defending have been good, and I'm sure it's the result of practicing it.
