To me this is simple. If the org made the decision you're not here, you get a video tribute. If you made the decision not to be here, sorry not sorry.
But with this logic, so many grey areas appear.
For example, Foligno. He didn't WANT to leave, but he also had the opportunity to veto any deal he wanted. He even got to pick where he wanted to go. Does he get a tribute?
I'm not sure if we attempted to re-sign Calvert, but I do know he was pretty eager to leave. Does he get one?
Jack Johnson was attempted to be re-signed a few times, he said no, and then requested a trade later. Didn't get traded, and both mutually parted ways. Should he get one?
There's no right or wrong way to do video tributes. I think people make too much of them. Anybody who knows how to edit videos could put together a "thank you" video in about 30 minutes. It's a nice cap tip to what they did for your team, even if it was for as short of a stay as Panarin's was.
I remain conflicted on PLD getting one. I hear both arguments about being the bigger person, or just moving by it. Its a tough call. My gut says he will get one, but that's still a guess.
