if it were NYR or OTT, sure...we play them next week...not in a month and a half...as I said and was said by others, probably nothing much to this, but doesn't make much sense as to why Jarmo and ChrisMac were there...

Maybe some good east coast food?

Well, there are some good places in Newark and I think there is a big city nearby that has a couple of good places to eat.

allegedly...but once again...the NYR played at home as well...then they could have taken in a show as well...

Best pizza I've ever had was in Elizabeth NJ. Just don't stop your car.

This isn't even a rumor. It's a fact, assuming their beat writer isn't on crack or something. We scouted the game. A rumor would be why we were scouting them. I see no reference to a source stating why we were scouting them.

Nik is the odd guy out right now... we could use a speedy forward of some type, I really injoyed watching Calvert and Atkinson race down the ice last season... Mac is fast too, I'm hoping JD gets some speed in exchange for Nikitin..

assuming everyone has seen that Jarmo and Chris Mac are at NJD/TBL game tonight...i'm sure nothing in it other than normal scouting, but still interesting...

Erixon is a scratch in Springfield.

A. Could be injured.
B. Could need a work ethic adjustment.
C. Could be getting traded.
D. Could just need a rest.

I find option D the least likely considering its the first month of the season and they only play on weekends. Most likely is A or B.

I think B is unlikely. The kid has been tearing up the AHL something that doesn't really jive with a bad work ethic.

There is also option E that I hadn't considered.

E. He might be getting called up to replace someone else getting traded. Probably about equal par with option C.

Really hope Jarmo makes the right choice of who to trade if he does in fact do a deal. I think Nikitin would be the right choice if something is going to go down, but if Erixon brings better value back, I'd be fine with that too.

When I first saw this thread, my first thought was also Purcell, whom I'd be quite pleased with if we are able to land him. I also get the sense something could be in the works with either 20 or 6 as soon as tonight, just based on the limited knowledge we have. We shall see.

Pure speculation, but perhaps Jenner's injury is worse than first thought? And maybe they're anticipating not-so-good news regarding Horton's MRI next week? We need NHL forwards, because lets face it, Craig, Chaput, et al aren't setting the world on fire.

Might be significantly higher than that, after all, we're talking about the guy who demanded a trade out of Calgary and only wanted to go to one place.
Although unlikely he did, that was the main reason why I asked that question. But he technically didn't demand a trade. He just refused to sign with Calgary. It was either trade me or I go back to the draft.

He seemed to like it here and he knows he's going to be in the league permanently very soon. He should be fine, if not, then I don't want him here.

Those who value all around play and who have conniptions when forwards play little and/or uninvolved defense should prepare yourselves should Purcell be on his way in.

I concur. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Purcell, and think that without Stamkos, he's another third/fourth line player. He's not the guy driving the offense, he's the guy playing on the right line.

On the Erixon thing, I'm not stating that he did (or would) ask for a trade, just trying to keep minds open that something along those lines could be a possibility. Given that he was a decent #6/7 guy for us last year, would anyone actually blame him if that were the case? After all, it's not fair to him to get lost in the numbers game here ... may as well try to get somewhere that he can play.

You are thinking of the Boucher system Purcell. He will never be a physical player nor a great defensive forward. But since Cooper os here he does both a hell lot better.

And purcell has yet to play with Stammer this season other than some PP time.
He started on the second line with Killorn and Flip, but since our all rookie line struggled a little early on with getting on the scoreboard they decided to change Panik and him. He is playing with Palat and johnson since then. Both very
strong defensive forwards with some good offense. But since he is on the line the line has really got flying. Especially on the scoresheet.

If it really is Erixon to TB and it's a player from Tampa (not Syracuse) I would say they will swap Panik and Erixon.
But I doubt Tampa is really after Erixon, because he would go to the A anyways.
My bet is Nikitin eventhough I would love getting
Tyutin.
Would Purcell or Connolly + first in 2015 get the conversation starting for Tyutin?
