Absolutely. We're assuming that the CT scan on Dorsett actually happened AND has been analyzed. We're assuming that Staal's vision is still off, but we have no word. We're assuming that Clowe being out of practice is about more than resting an injury that can be played through.

The only speculation that I think is 100% right on is that on Boyle, who hasn't skated in so long that he's a definite no for Thursday.

He's gonna pull a Paul Pierce.

I think that everyone is fully coming to terms with the fact that having a healthy Clowe, Dorsett and......yes dagoneit, Brian Boyle in the line up gives us three big bodies that are badly needed in any playoff run.

And yes, I understand Dorse is not the biggest guy out there. It's the fight in the dog that counts.

And there ya go on two of them.

By the way, we should really tighten up our medical terms here. An x-ray is not an MRI is not a CT scan (although CT scans use x-rays).

lulz, mark staal got blasted in the eye with a slapshot, hasn't played in months, yet people think he's gonna jump out there and Torts is going to give him the bulk of the play against Ovechkin? this fanbase never ceases to amaze me

No Clowe update, more and more likely he's dealing with concussion so you know how that timetable works.

was this ever even a question? people were still acting as he sprained something? did they not see him in a daze having to be helped off the ice, looking like he had no idea where he was, after taking an elbow to the head.....

Concussion for Clowe. As if the Rangers didn't need anymore reason$ not to meet his asking price.

I immediately thought Clowe hurt his shoulder again, and thought to myself "they better think twice about re-signing this guy..."

.....another hill for this Rangers team to climb.

Having a healthy Clowe, Staal, Boyle and Dorsett in the line up makes the Rangers a much tougher team. Without them some folks are gonna really need to step up. I think this can happen.

The Post reported the next day that it was a lower body injury. He was definitely elbowed on the play but the way his teammates helped him off the ice it was hard to tell whether it was because he had zero balance or because he couldn't put weight on his leg.

@JimCerny: it's called trying to recover as fast as possible from major eye injury RT @KreiOfTheTiger: @JimCerny is this gamesmanship re staal?
Love when the reporters get snippy

Still the Rangers said "lower-body", didn't they? Whatever the point of that was...

I dont know why everyone is just jumping to conclusions here and assuming Staal, Clowe, and Dorsett will not be in the lineup come Thursday night...

Gross just stated that there were no new updates on the Staal front... and as far as Dorsett goes he said there was no setback...

I tend to stay on the optimistic side of things and take the good out of the statement..

i have a feeling we will not see Clowe on Thursday...

Staal and Dorsett i still have my fingers crossed that we hear good news before Thursday and they will be in the lineup... Dorsett will be a sparkplug that we need on the bottom lines and well Staal is Staal... Even at 80% give me Staal over Eminger
