He has always played tremendous in the playoffs and his whole style of play is made for the playoffs ..... I disagree with that statement considering he was playing 1st line minutes as well

Yes it definitely sucks because he the kind of grinder/size/playoff experience you want in playoffs especially if we wind up playing Boston. Just hope its nothing serious and he can be ready by middle of next week.

I meant more along the lines of it wasn't Nash, Stepan, McD, or Hank. I'm agreeing it's a real big loss, especially as it relates to depth.

Why not Miller. Newbury does absolutely nothing. At least Miller somewhat gives a **** and has some sort of offensive game.

No need to call up Newbury, Gilroy looked awesome tonight. :sarcasm:

So as it stands, possibly no Clowe or Boyle for the playoffs. Who knows when Staal or Dorsett will be ready. Lack of depth was an issue in last year's playoffs and it's even more of a problem this season. It's going to be tough to make some noise in the playoffs if those 4 aren't ready to go.

I can't find video of the Clowe injury. Was it the elbow to the head? Does anybody have the replay they showed of his reaction immediately after the injury when he was going to the bench??

Please hockey Gods we need to at least get 2 of those 4 back. How can Dorsett not be ready by the playoffs? I mean Karlsson just rehabbed a 6 month injury in like 10 weeks...lol. I mean i know you can't speed up bone healing but gotta believe he will be ready by middle next week. Lets hope Clowe's injury isn't too serious. On the other hand, Boyle and Staal I wouldn't hold my breath. Hoping for Staal to be back for playoffs but totally hard to say

Kenjets -- He went in for a hit on Sanguinetti, got an accidental elbow to the face. Seemed fine immediately following, but tried to take a step and looked like he stumbled. MSG later showed a replay from during a TV timeout of him headed to the dressing room being helped off the ice by two Rangers on either side of him. Did not look good. But despite the elbow it was somewhat unclear whether it was his legs or head that was the problem...

Watching Clowe like that really put a damper on the night. Big loss if it is for any significant length of time. Hopefully not. :(

EDIT: PS -- of course it would happen to be Sangs, right? Geez, the luck of this team is just awful.

Dorsett should be good to go for game 1.

Really hope that Clowe doesn't have the same "flu" that Nash had earlier in the season. He has been eating up a ton of minutes for this team and we definitely do not have any players of his caliber to replace his minutes.

hoping Clowe is ok... Staal and Dorsett should be ready for the PO.. finally getting healthy, would really suck to lose Clowe now.

How far away is Boyle?

This actually might be a blessing in disguise, Clowes injury. Obviously you never want to wish ill will on anyone so i hope hes ok but this could sway the decision of resigning him or not, but also allow for what i think will be a better lineup once some guys come back

Clowe>Boyle
without a doubt. and i have a feeling boyle's out for the rest of the season...

part of me feels like it was clowe's neck/back... kind of hope that it was just a tweak over a concussion. i'd even be content with a broken jaw (pcs sucks, but pizza through a straw is good)

i don't have a problem with newb being up either. he was a lot better looking last time he was up. his energy is what we need. when cally takes a game off nobody seems to have the energy to keep the flow going-- newbury seems like he can do that to a point.

actually like newbury over just turnovers miller

A lot of toughness and physical play on the sidelines right now.. We're not an intimidating without Boyle, Clowe and Staal (and Dorsett, but he hasn't even played so we can't technically "miss" him).
