Torts says D Roman Hamrlik, not on the ice for the morning skate, is "banged up." Hamrlik has been a healthy scratch last three games.

No estimates. He's coming along but remains out indefinitely. Hopefully he'll be good to go in a couple weeks or so, but there's really been no timetable.

Hopefully he's back earlier than that. If he wears a visor, he should play with it in a good amount of games before the playoffs--assuming we make it.

Why?

Del Zotto had a bad game - it was one game. He has been the Rangers best and most consistent defenseman this season. I really can't think of more than maybe 3 or 4 games where Del Zotto was noticeably bad. No need to be so reactionary - that might be asking a bit too much from this board, though.

I can't wait until Staal comes back so we can put MDZ on his right side; DZ had some of his best games with Staal. Some people think DZ was bad on the right, but I disagree. He had his ups and downs, there, but DZ's best moments this season, IMO, came when he was paired with Staal. I'd like to get DZ more acclimated with the right side of the ice as it is. I think it would allow him to be more in control of the play when the puck is on his stick, puts him at a better shooting angle. We need to move one of our LD to the right side eventually. I think it would be a mistake to trade DZ over Girardi just because he's left handed and Girardi right; and we're definitely not trading McDonagh or Staal.

Because we never know what we're gonna get with DZ. could be a great game, or it could be a return to his sophomore season. He's a good 2nd pairing defenseman, and I don't want him getting 25 minutes per night. (Or Girardi for that matter, but I guess we don't have much of a choice there.)

Agreed. I would put money on Staal still being better than Eminger in those 4-6 games.

Not a knock on Eminger who we are actually lucky to have as a 7th D

Can't ****ing wait until Marc is back. The defense is infinitely better with him in the lineup. We could do without him when Girardi was playing over his head the first half of last year, but he's integral now. Just putting him back in gives us 3 really good pairings.

Im reading this as 7-10 days before he gets on the ice for practice. It will likely be longer before he can play in a game.

You're right I was so frustrated with Del Zotto last night that I am still fuming. I think his positioning was a little weak against carolina the other night but nowhere near as bad as Toronto. I think he is forgetting is main job as a defenseman is to play defense. He was awful last night. The worst I've seen from any defenseman this year. The worst. You have to know your opponent. That was not the team to be dicking around on the ice with. He hung Girardi and Lundqvist out to dry. He should be ashamed.

Moore is playing <10min TOI. MDZ gets >22min TOI, what would Moore's game look like pushing 20-25 min TOI. I'm sure we would see some warts. Hopefully next year Moore's TOI will increase once he settles in.
