In praise of Appleton, Nino and Lurch. Best third line in the league.

This line started off great last season too
Notice Appleton on his contract season. Will be UFA next season.
Maybe upped his game to try to get fat contract?

I suspect Apples stays in Winnipeg and signs a similar contract to Nino. If he keeps up the play.

You can’t teach chemistry. (Unless you work for the public school system.)

Louie De Brusk called them the best checking line in the league game 1 against the Oilers. It's not like they aren't carrying over success from last year. Maybe some weaker opponents early in the season, but this line is for real. They don't give up too many easy goals, and they genuinely look pissed when they get scored on. Their secondary scoring has been a nice surprise. Maybe good enough to get Lurch a nomination for the Selke, which is overdue.
